5.0 out of 5 stars How I Prepare My Shakes
I suffer from fibromyalgia, hypoglycemia, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue, so I really need a shake that is packed with protein and nutrition. 2.0 out of 5 stars Atkins is soooo much better
I purchased this product because its very comparible to the Atkins shakes, but less money. Boy, you get what you pay for. I had trouble mixing it. I even used my power mixer and it still clumps. The taste is a bit gritty. Finally, I took a suggestion off of this review site and made it like hot chocolate. Well, the powder mixed up this time and does taste a bit...

5.0 out of 5 stars How I Prepare My Shakes, August 27, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I suffer from fibromyalgia, hypoglycemia, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue, so I really need a shake that is packed with protein and nutrition. Since I have been low carbing for over two years now, I naturally get cravings at night but also use the mix as my breakfast pick me up before work. Here is how I prepare it, and it is wonderful! Note that I pour it into an icy plastic mug (I keep several in the freezer) and let it sit in the freezer for a few minutes vs. adding the ice, which tends to water it down and take away the thickness. Simply pour your 8 oz of water (or sometimes I use 6 oz of water and 2 oz of the Carb Countdown skim milk or heavy cream, or all 8 oz Carb Countdown milk)INTO A BLENDER BEFORE ADDING THE POWDER and blend. When this combo has blended, add 2-3 tablespoons of peanut butter (I use the Carb Options brand) and blend again. I think it's wonderful this way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate is great!, July 24, 2005
By
I've tried a number of products and like this one best. Vanilla is lower on my likes. I mix a variety of things in when I blend it: cream cheese, cottage cheese, fruit, pumpkin (with cinnamon and nutmeg)... Sometimes I blend in ice cubes to make it thick. I take it when I travel and use a shaker bottle. Without a doubt my favorite of all the ones I've tried!

5.0 out of 5 stars Carb Solutions keeps my energy level up all day!, March 15, 2004
This review is from: Carb Solutions High Protein Shake Mix, Creamy Vanilla (13.5 Ounces) (Health and Beauty)
I first bought Carb Solutions as a diet aid. I immediately discovered that when I drink a shake for breakfast, my energy level stays wonderfully "Up" throughout the day. I previously ate a high fiber breakfast cereal for breakfast, but would be dosing at my computer by early afternoon. Now, I will never quit having my Carb Solutions shake for breakfast on workdays. I prefer the vanilla because there is so much you can do with it. Make it with orange juice and it tastes like an Orange Julius. Or, toss a handful of blueberries into it for the extra shot of lutein. I hope this company stays in business forever!
(P.S. This powder works better if mixed in a blender.)

This review is from: Carb Solutions High Protein Shake Mix, Creamy Vanilla (13.5 Ounces) (Health and Beauty)
I drink low carb/high protein shakes for breakfast everyday - have done so for several years. The Carb Solutions vanilla flavor mix is the very best tasting one that I have ever used (I have only tried the vanilla). Mixes well, tastes rich and satisfying. I highly recommend it. I will be buying more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why is Amazon price so high?, January 1, 2008
Why does Amazon charge $31 a can for this mix? You can buy it from Drugstore.com for $12 a can!! If you have a GNC gold card, you can get it for $10 a can during the first week of each month!!! This is a great protein shake mix. I mix this powder 50/50 with Dymatize Elite whey protein powder, then after adding water, I mix that with a low carb Slim Fast chocolate shake.........probably too much trouble for most people, but it's great for me :-) I've been drinking it for breakfast every day for several years. It starts my day of with high protein, low carbs, and I don't get hungry until it's time for lunch.

Well, the powder mixed up this time and does taste a bit better, almost like sugar free hot cocoa. I would not recommend this product. I was using the Atkins shakes and thought I could save some cash, but, they are much tastier and mix without any grit. Just my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent source of protein!, November 7, 2007
By
I have to say that as far as Protein shakes go, this is by far the best! Great flavor, but I definately recommend using a blender. Also, the price you see here is way out of whack because you can get this same product for under $12 at drugstore.com, so the whole "eligible for free super saver shipping" deal is no deal at all. I bought this shake mix for 6.50 at drugstore.com with free shipping. Anyway, it is good stuff, great source of protein, low carb, low fat. I was comparing it to the "High protein" mix for Slimfast, and I was also happy to see that Carb Solutions is lower in sugar, not just carbs. The real difference is that "Carb Solutions" is soy based protein, not whey. But anyway, hope this review helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carb solutions Low Car diets shake Mix, April 10, 2006
By
This product is just incredible. I follow a low carb diet and usually I am in a big hurry in the morning, this shake makes a great substitute for breakfast for me. My only problem with this product is that it is very hard to buy. Amazon.com does have any product any more and I really would like to know where to go to keep some on hand. thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add to it, June 4, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've never tried these type of shakes before and carb solutions is my first (the chocolate one). We make it in the blender with half water and half skim milk. Then add a nice big spoonful of peanut butter and fruit. Don't forget to add some ice cubes so that it's nice and cold when drinking. The end of the glass tends to get tough to get down if it gets warm, so the ice cubes are the key. Also, stop the blender and use a spoon to remove any unblended clumps from the sides, and then blend again. Just take your time blending it and add some goodies to help get it down. Hope that helps!

It's so nutritious, and you get used to the taste after a while, so that doesn't matter that much. Don't get vanilla, that tastes like a cup of nastiness.
