2.0 out of 5 stars controls suck the fun out of it. June 12, 2013
By C. Cox
Verified Purchase
Even after the tutorial the exact mechanism for the controls. Tutorial does not explain that the dot doesn't stop at the finger, it keeps going until the finger is lifted. Tutorial does not explain that the finger must be lifted to change direction. Tutorial does not explain objective until after the player may have already messed up. Actually, the tutorial is often late on a lot of explanations. The inadequacy of the tutorials and the non-intuitive controls takes the fun out of the game. Uninstalling.

1.0 out of 5 stars cool cover, not a cool game June 12, 2013

I've experienced many firsts in my life and I have to say that it was a first when I started the game all I got was a "sorry you don't have 8**x..." it wasn't aligned with my screen so I couldn't really read the rest of it. Anyway, the game crashes and doesn't work for my kindle fire

2.0 out of 5 stars Works for me but needless permissions June 12, 2013

Runs fine on my S3 w/Jelly Bean.
Controls not hard to figure out at all. Touch ANYWHERE and slide in the direction you want to go. You'll move one square at a time unless you hold your finger down, in which case you keep moving in that direction.
Played 4 levels and it's pretty straightforward.
Points off for requiring permissions no game should need. (Among them, Reset battery statistics?)
Would have been 3, maybe 3.5 stars otherwise.

The second free app of the day for June 12, 2013 in the Amazon App Store is Purity by Carbide Software. You obviously didn't need to copy Christopher Chance and flip a coin to know Amazon would add a second free app of the day after seeing the awful reviews and using that horrible coin flipping app that was the first free app of the day.

Thankfully, this is a much better choice for a free app of the day. It is a shame most people won't realize that this was a second free app today since Amazon didn't add it as a 2nd free app until the day was well over half over.

This game is a lot like a game last year that was free app of the day called The Floor Is Lava. The main differences between The Floor Is Lava and this game Purity is that this one has different controls and is not a time based challenge to get to the next level.

The controls are a little harder to get used to on this one than The Floor is Lava, but unlike The Floor is Lava, you can undo any tiles in the level you are playing that you already have removed if you messed up earlier in the level.

The game has a tutorial mode and was a little confusing at first when I started playing it, but eventually I figured out that you can back up by pressing down with 2 fingers to go back to the spots where the info on certain game elements is given to explain the game.

Since the game controls are probably not the best and you can't skip to any level you want, I am deducting a star and giving this game app 4 out of 5 stars.

Graphics are nice, sound is nice, music is good, controls stink.
It plays exactly like free flow and any other game were have to move around a specific path to complete a connection. Problem is the touch controls are horrid. Even on the massive note 2 I couldnt normally get the little dot to move where I wanted. Always very clunky. Got tired and irritated halfway thru level one.
No option to add a cross pad or anything. Wont be playing this any more but it did have good presentation. Shame its so unpleasant to play.

2.0 out of 5 stars Average, nothing special June 12, 2013

Not a lot to see here. The game is colorful , the screen scaling is off. The biggest problem I have with the game is the lag when swiping the screen which causes incorrectly ball movement which requires you to retrace your steps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Fun May 30, 2013

I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded this game, but I went out on a limb and bought it and was quite surprised to find that it was a really fun puzzle game. If you enjoy finding patterns or solving logic problems, this is probably a good game for you. The gameplay is simple to understand, the graphics are crisp, and I think the game itself, overall, is very well put together. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who would like a challenging and fun way to pass the time.

4.0 out of 5 stars I really like it, despite the flaws. June 13, 2013
Verified Purchase
This app isn't perfect, but I think it is getting a harder time than it deserves. The controls could be better, but once you figure them out and get used to them, they aren't that bad. There is a little glitch where I have gotten an error message telling me the app can't run because it requires a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 400. I found this odd, as I had already played the game once, and my Kindle Fire has a higher resolution than that anyway. I went in and shut down all of my currently running apps (which I do frequently anyway) and it started right up.

I really do like the puzzle aspect of this game. It can be a bit tricky, and really makes you think about the solution. That's way better than most of the brainless apps you find.

All in all, this is a pretty cool little game. Could benefit from a couple things, but a very solid concept. If you like puzzle games, you really should give this one a fair chance.

This is a mind worker game and keeps you entertained on long trips in the car. The best part is that it doesn't need wi-fi! Everyone should get this game!!!!!!!!!

Okay, but nothing special really. Played it for a couple days a little here and there and then got rid of it. Meh.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fails to Perform
I thought the object of the game was to figure, out how to get from point A to point B; not fighting the screen to get the marker to go where I wanted it to go.

1.0 out of 5 stars cumbersome
the puzzles may be interesting on upper levels, but the controls make it cumbersome to navigate and not worth the hassle

Would not run on my Nook Color booting Android 3.0 from an SD card. Might be great, but I cannot tell.
