4.0 out of 5 stars Carbob Black Reference Book, February 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Carbon Black (Hardcover)
"Carbon Black" is a good reference book; it was probably an excellent reference book when the second edition was first released. It is now somewhat dated. While the amount and quality of the information is still very good, there are some weaknesses. Finding things is awkward as the index is not very user-friendly. You almost have to read the entire book first and then find topics afterwards. Second, the book should have information regarding carbon black recovered during recycle of carbon-containing materials such as tires and other rubber products. There is nothiing about pyrolysis of carbon black itself when black-reinforced or black-colored materials are reprocessed. Nor is the book useful for anything about carbon black as an added reinforcement to rubberized asphalt. The book is also quite expensive for a volume that old; the price should be reduced by 40% or so.
