I was a little worried......,

I was a bit concerned and didn't want to try the product since it wasn't getting good reviews, then I actually read Carbona products are crap! But, I cannot find Rit color run remover anywhere, so I decided to risk ruining the garment and tried it anyway. It worked perfectly! I guess you just need to read the instructions. I'm guessing the people who weren't successful used too hot of water and soaked the garment too long. I used warm water and soaked the sweatshirt for one half hour and the pink came out. I would use this again, just read the wash instructions on the label and don't soak it for hours or overnight.

I am sorry there have been poor reviews. I have used these products for years and when used correctly and for the right stain, they work amazingly well. I have also used the stain grabber and it worked as well. I, for one, will always have one for each type of stain in my laundry room!

Because I can't give it zero stars...,

This product does not work at all. Like previous reviewers it merely started to remove the color from the garment, while leaving the stain. Don't waste your money.

saved my tablecloth,

At Christmas, my ivory tablecloth accidentally got washed with some red items, leaving me with a pink tablecloth. Luckily, I found the Carbona Color Run Remover at the grocery store. It worked perfectly, taking out all of the red dye. If I ever have a similar problem, I will definitely buy it again. As for the folks who claimed that it "ruined" their items, I can only guess that they didn't try the colorfastness test in the product instructions.

Bleached out entire quilt,

This is a horrible product. In order to remove runs, the product takes the color out of the entire item. Handmade quilt totally ruined.

I washed a cream colored coat with a red scarf. I tried soaking in oxyclean, and that didn't do anything. I found this at the grocery store, but it didn't help at all. Finally I tried the RIT kind- that stuff was amazing and completely got the stains out!

My garment was nude color with a nice pink streak due to rub out color - I found the stain before I washed it. I followed the bucket method instructions precisely. It didn't remove anything - no pink, no nude color. So, I tried it again with another packet and left it to soak longer (almost all day)... nothing. Maybe I had a dud?

Removes color runs after YEARS!,

I washed an oatmeal-colored sweater with a maroon sweater (yeah, I know...duh!). Long story short, nothing would make my light pink sweater oatmeal again, so I dealt with it.
Years later (at least 3), I ran across the Carbona in a store and figured, "what the heck. I don't have anything to lose". After several years of wear and repeated washing and drying, I had my beautiful oatmeal sweater back! I've used it since with multicolored garments and had similar results (except the one blouse that wasn't colorfast. With that one, it took out the unwanted stain, but it faded the regular colors of the shirt. Again, what did I have to lose? I couldn't wear it with the run stains. Now it's just a bit faded). Now I just have to find out where to get it. Jo-Ann's doesn't have it any longer :(

I had two moderately expensive tie-dye style items (ladies csrdi-wrap & a pool cover-up) that had bled in the laundry, even though washed according to label instructions. Researched dye bleed removal and this was one of the seemingly easiest methods mentioned to do the job. Followed package directions strictly; all I got was minor bleed removal and lighter-toned garments, mildly shrunk due to having to soak in warm-hot water. Id been willing to accept mild shrinkage if the product had removed the bleed-but I ended up just ruining both garments.

I have little experience with stain removers, but when a blue dress that was damp came into contact with a white vintage tablecloth and my favorite pale yellow dress on the way home from the laundromat, there was trouble. I had given up on both of them after treating the stains with clorox color safe stain remover, bar soap (mom's secret!) A friend told me dye and stain removers like this one exist, and since I couldn't find it locally I bought it from Amazon. By the time I finally got around to the stains they were a good month and a half old. I followed the simple directions, using the hottest tap water I could get and a freshly boiled kettle of water to boost the heat, dissolved all the powder in about three gallons of this hot water in the kitchen sink, and dunked in my stained things. The dark colors in the table cloth turned an odd maroon, and the pale yellow dress instantly went gray! I couldn't even tell if the stains were gone, but it seemed the white of the tablecloth was no longer splotchy with blue, so with less than one minute in the stain remover hot bath I drained and rinsed the two cotton items--and what happened? The colors all went back to normal and there were no stains! Wow! It works fast. Don't walk away from it. Use it on stains you know are dye stains. Good luck! I certainly had a great success with this product! The only objection is that it is smelly, and I can't get it locally. But I will buy it again and never throw out laundromat accident items again!
