To rebuild or replace... that's the question? I took the least expensive approach and tried the rebuild... but that didn't work so this review is for both a 632107A carb and a 31840 kit. The kits are great to rebuild your carburetor... but not in all situations and having used the originals and the generics I never found much of a difference! I have some acreage and all the gas powered equipment it takes to maintain it. Most of my items are older because I think a lot of the newer items are inferior and lack the power you can get out of some of the older equipment. I have a tiller, chipper/shredder, several line trimmers, snow thrower; chainsaw; mowers, leaf blower and probably some others. The larger items are all 5HP or larger. I have rebuilt several carbs and though the kits have what you need I would highly recommend that you remove the fuel bowl and make sure it and the float are OK before you buy the kit... because most kits don't include either of these items nor the manifold gasket. I purchased my kit on eBay to save a few bucks but when I started the rebuild I found that the hinge on the float was so corroded that it was the problem and had to be replaced and the bowl near the hinge had a tiny hole from the same corrosion. I purchased the snow thrower used and would guess the corrosion occurred from sitting dry in the sun for a few years where it would accumulate water from condensation. Anyway, that meant I needed a float, bowl & mounting gasket and when the cost for those were added in the cost of a new carb was less. I suspect that, in the future, I will purchase the carb, skip the rebuild kit, and keep the old item for parts.Read more ›

Maybe it is unfair to give only 4 stars when I got exactly what I ordered... but this kit is a little light. It is missing a few things needed for a proper rebuild (such as float and primer bulb) but it also shows very clearly that it does NOT contain these items, and states that it is a "repair" kit. My fault I suppose for being a go kart noob and pressing "order" so quickly. So why still only 4 stars? Lack of any instructions, at all, whatsoever. All you get is a random bag of parts, and since it is a rather generic kit many won't even be for "your" carb.

Great kit!! Has everything needed for a Tecumseh carb rebuild. I used it to rebuild my 1971 Ariens snowblower and it runs as good as it did when it was new!!!! I noticed that before the rebuild I was having to run the engine with partial choke to keep it running right. Now it just hums along and starts without even having to apply full choke. Good quality kit, has everything you will need.

I used this kit to rebuild the carb on my generator, the engine would not run smoothly without the choke part way on. now runs like new. Also be sure to clean every hole with carb cleaner before re assembly

I think the carb seet gasket is for spring not winter related engines. Just make sure you get the white seet gasket for winter/snowblowers.

It was a frigid and snowy evening as I took out the old Toro. I smelled gas. I saw gas. Something was broken with the carburetor.
A day later, I ordered this kit after a little research. It arrived quickly and it contained the precious little parts that I needed to make to repair.

bought this for my tecumseh hm80, works goods. check for bent needles and before you order it try to clean it, if it runs after a quick clean, order this and rebuild it, if it doesnt run, just order a new carb, also if the floats crushed order a new one because it probably cracked the carb body
