Watsky is great! He is one of the most verbally gifted people I've ever heard. I've been listening to rap since 1984, and I have listened to many flavors of it. Mainstream rap is really tired, but there are some excellent and creative rappers out there if you look around for something with some substance to it. Watsky really stands out; he is different from everybody else, but what he does definitely works and he really delivers everything that you want (if you're not a drone that listens to Drake, Lil Wayne, and 50 Cent). The beats are great, and he even has a really talented band to back him up that offers jazz and funk and some horns to give you something extra. He can rap at a relaxed tempo, or he can rap blazingly fast with superb articulation and a precise flow. This album isn't going to give you your daily gangsta fix, but it's full of realness. He raps about things like being poor, working hard, struggling with what life gives you, our stupefying obsession with hand-held electronic devices, and many other things. He delivers it all with humor, wit, sarcasm, and all kinds of other devices.

The bottom line is that if you love rap, and/or if you want something different with an excellent production, lyrics with substance, ridiculously skillful delivery, and something that will make you smile from ear to ear through the entire album, you'll definitely want to add this to your collection.

I've been peripheraly aware of Watsky for a couple of years now and have been content with watching his numerous Youtube videos when ever I needed a fix. I've also downloaded his free interweb releases but have never taken him seriously as a "MC", he seems more of a novelty or a caricature of a white nerdy hipster rapper. Well in this album he addresses some of this with the party track "Kill a Hipster" and gets his slam poetry on on "Tiny Glowing Screens, Part 2". I should also say that my wife purchaced this for me and I'm glad she did because I would not have. She ordered it straight from Watsky's website and I received it aboud a 6 days before it's "official" release and have been listening to it religiously and I love it, it is the best Hip-Hop/Rap album so far this year.

In short, if you know Watsky then your know what your getting, songs with complicated vocal tempos that go from a leisurely Sunday drive to red-lining at breakneck speeds down a German autobahn with his rapid delivery all in the same song. This album is a solid one and moved Watsky from my peripherals to dead center as a legitamate force to be reckoned with in the Hip-Hop/Rap genre.

Watsky's is the first full album I've bought in years, and for good reason. Kid is damn talented and it definitely shows in his music. The album is a journey that will make you laugh hysterically and tear up like a little girl. He is truly a poet and we need more like him.

This album is an amazing mix of styles, ranging from quasi-dish tracks to very serious and thoughtful spoken word. Every track Watsky seems to hit just the right tone and style, no matter how different it was from the previous track, showing a great range and ability. And despite the wide array of styles, there aren't really any tracks on this album that I just have to skip when they come on. I'm not sure how Watsky has managed it, but I was waiting for the next track every time. He has also managed to make the album feel like more than a disjointed mix of random songs, which is much more than most modern artists can say. It's hard to describe the album without hearing it, as a lot of it is the feeling that is put into each song. You can tell that Watsky put in a lot of time, effort and soul into this work and it shows. If I had to complain about something I would say that a couple of the songs (particularly Kill a Hipster and Legend of Hardhead Ned) feel a little bit strange with the rest of the album, but that's hardly a complaint. Watsky also let's his incredible ability of wordplay shine on a few tracks, such as Strong as an Oak. Overall, this is one of the best records I've heard in a long time and it definitely belongs on the shelf of any music fan, no matter what kind of music you're a fan of.

George Watsky does not disappoint with his latest album. You get seventeen songs for ten bucks. He uses an eight year old kid on various tracks that makes parts of the album hilarious and his songs are profound and catchy. I'd recommend this album to anyone.

Watsky is an amazing artist that deserves more credit than he gets. One day the world will see, sadly I'll have to shoot myself. That will be the day I'm a hipster for liking him before he was popular. :(

This album is a lot of fun. A pretty good mix of songs. I haven't heard a song yet I didn't like. I'm waiting for it to be delivered but been listening to it on Rdio all day.
