THE COMPLETE COLLECTION + Movie Episodes: Complete 1-70 End & 2 movies Languages: Japanese Subtitles: English Number of disc: 4 Product Description: Sakura Kinomoto was an ordinary 4th grader until the day she opened a strange book and let dozens of powerful magic cards loose on the world. Keroberos, the Guardian of the Clow Cards, informs Sakura that it is now her responsibility to find and capture the freed cards. However, much to the reluctant Sakura's dismay, things aren't going to be easy for her; simply saying magic words and waving her wand around isn't good enough. Each card is a living, thinking, extremely powerful being. She'll have to learn to cope with her new responsibilities, as well as ordinary troubles involving love, school, family, and friends. With the support of her friend Tomoyo and a young boy with powers of his own, she must learn how to use her newly awakened magical abilities to collect each card and prevent the disaster that will befall the world if she doesn't. Yes, unfortunately this product is a bootleg. I give this product a two star because whoever created these DVDS could've put more backbone into it. The subtitles are a little off and sometimes they don't synch properly with the voices. Sometimes the subtitles disappear to fast and there will be times with no subs showing up at all. The colors and quality are so-so, I say almost like the region 1 DVDS. The design on the discs are okay and original, but they could have chosen a different artwork.

*There are 3 DVDS in the case, meaning there are at least 20 episodes in each discs! o_O
*For those who don't know, this is in Japanese only and there is no English audio. (English dub totally "CUT" a lot of important info, so they never fully dubbed the series!)
*The Pros about this item is the shelf space. It takes about 1½ space from a regular DVD case; compared, to the 18 individual volumes; moreover, it's about half the size of the Geneon's Sakura Book Set bundle.

If you are on a tight budget, not a quality person, and not a collector than I believe this product is the right one for you. ;)

REMOVE THIS ITEM FROM AMAZON OR GIVE MORE DETAILS

-Subtitles don't always match the voice
-The quality of the video does not meet the expectations that a DVD collection should have.
-They cut off the "Kero Check" endings to save space, a NO NO for someone who would buy a DVD for an anime (We have our ways to watch anime for free).
-While I watch anime in Japanese most of the time, this DVD does not have an option for English Audio.
-I personally did not like the sound quality.

I'm not sure if this item would be considered legal to sell on Amazon; it is probably bootlegged.

STAY AWAY IF YOU COLLECT ANIME, the only people who should probably buy this are people who haven't seen the series and cannot in good conscience watch anime without paying for it.

I blame myself for not noticing the amount of discs provided compared to the amount of memory 70 episodes of DVD quality animation should take.

I must say, when I saw this sort of thing for under $300 I jumped on it. I had a gift card, and I think I spent it well. Honestly, i don't regret my purchase. But, I do have some...complaints. So far I've only watched it on my xBox 360, so this may be just because some DVD's don't work well on certain consoles because they were made for games and not movies.

But, if that's not it - And I'll check back in after I've confirmed it - mine has poor subtitling. Sometimes the word will go by too fast for even me to read them (and I read fairly quickly, as I am used to watching subtitled things), and sometimes - like in the episode at the zoo - they will be completely out of sync with the picture. That's only happened once so far, hopefully it stays that way. That episode I will definitely be reviewing on my laptop later. Also, the subtitling will have missing letters from words sometimes, leave words out, leave punctuation out, and the OP theme is missing a few words. But, it doesn't really affect how you understand what is being said. Unless you REALLY hate lack of punctuation.

All in all, this is a great purchase. You have the entire (uncut) series, including the movies, for a great price. Honestly, unless you wanna spend $400 on it, this is definitely your best bet.

Bootleg that shouldn't be on Amazon! Support the industry and buy the original (Pioneer/Nelvana) or new (Nis America) official releases. You'll be getting far more of your moneys worth with the official releases (quality, audio, packaging, subtitles, special features, ect..) than this bootleg.

I enjoyed this copy. It is a bootleg but it is very well done, the audio is great and the subtitles are available. The series is only in Japanese audio, but the movies have both English and Japanese audio.

The subtitles weren't bad. There were some typos and grammatical issues, but it wasn't near as bad as some animes and live action dramas from Asia that I have watched. Graphic quality is pretty meh. Not horrible, but not great. Some episodes have weird pixilations. This is definitely a bootleg copy, so caveat emptor. The individual will have to weigh for themselves whether they are okay with buying something that was effectively "stolen" from the company that produced it. I'm not passing judgment on those that do, just pointing this out for potential buyers. The copy I purchased came without the two movies that it claimed to have as part of the set, but can I really complain when it is a bootleg set? That's something else potential buyers should be wary about. Overall I am happy with my purchase since I had never seen this series and now I have and I can share it with my kids (since it is one of the few child appropriate animes I know of). I don't recommend it for a serious collector, but for someone like me, it's fine (ethical questions aside).

Sakura's story is not only delightful, it's also a great source of listening practice for Japanese learners. Because it's about a little kid, it includes many of the home-and-school phrases language learners come across early ("Tadaimaaaaaa!"), and the back story about Sakura's family history and the fascinating characters--her fan/friend grown to her video camera, her brother in his succession of jobs, and of course Kero-chan with his delightful arc--all make this suitable for viewers well past primary school.

And need I add: kawaaaaaaii!
