Truly the perfect ending!,
By ~Cherry (NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cardcaptor Sakura - The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card (Special Edition) (DVD)
Well, my very favorite series of all time, Cardcaptor Sakura, has come to an end in its American release. I have to say that this was the absolute perfect way to finish off the series - with a movie. Most of us know that episode 70 of the anime was a total cliff-hanger, and this is what happens.Four months have passed since Eriol and his ordeals have left for England, and four months had passed since Syaoran told Sakura his true feelings, and yet, she was never able to reply. As life starts turning back to normal for her, the most exciting thing that happens is her getting the part of princess in a festival play. Eriol's old house has been demolished, and a new amusement park was built atop the hill where it stood. Underneath the house, the 53rd Clow Card was sealed - a card that has the power to cancel out the other 52 and turn the world to nothingness. Syaoran gets dragged to Japan by Meiling for the Nadeshiko festival, and Sakura tries to tell him how she feels, and somehow, something's always in the way! In the end, when everything, including Sakura's cards starts to dissappear, Sakura must make a choice - give up her most precious feeling, or let the world turn to nothing. The movie was truly amazingly animated. Everyone still has their true personalities, but somehow, they show a bit more expression. The colors are better, and in all, it's just better quality than the anime. It's widescreen, and has two subtitle tracks... However, there was one thing that intruiged me about this disk... Over all, this is worth the money. I was really happy finally getting to watch it after reading various summaries. ^^; Just one thing - I don't recomend this to anyone that hasn't seen all of the originally subbed episodes. Even if it's dubbed, you will be lost. It does not follow the Cardcaptors story.

The Final Clow Card Is Revealed,
By
This review is from: Cardcaptor Sakura - The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card (Special Edition) (DVD)
Finally, all the Clow Cards have been transformed into Sakura Cards, Eriol is back in England and Shaoran in Honk Kong. Back in Tokyo, Tomoyo still films Sakura's awesome powers (and makes sure to create cute little outfits for her as well). Everything seems to be okay until, one day, the house where Eriol used to live in is demolished to build a Theme Park. The Void Card is now free and willing to do anything in order to get all it's friends back. Now, Sakura must fight against a Card which is immune to any kind of spell she or her guardians can use. Will Sakura capture this card before it swallows all her friends and the whole city? Can she tell Shaoran how she truly feels before his feelings are erased by the Void card's power?

A MUST BUY FOR CARDCAPTORS FANS,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Cardcaptor Sakura - The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card (Special Edition) (DVD)
I'm a really huge fan of Cardcaptors, but when the show was canceled I was completely devastated...they just left me hanging there with Li confessing his feelings towards Sakura and then he leaves for Japan. When I found out about the second movie I was thrilled about the thought. Sadly no one carried the DVD so luckily amazon carries it! Anway, the movie is really good and has a nice story to it. The movie is basically about Sakura and her building up the courage to tell Li her true feeings towards him since she never got the chance. Unfortunately, for those of you (like me) who have watched Cardcaptors the voices have changed from the series and that was probably one of the biggest shockers for me. At times the high-pitched voices got kind of annoying but the movie still caught my attention. Although I would have to say that I was disappointed about Kero's voice changing to some "cute" voice.
Ok, back to the movie. Unfortunately for Sakura and co. there is yet another Clow card that hasn't been sealed and it's called The Nothing Card. It balances the negative and positive energy between all of the cards but has the power of all of them combined into one. So it is very powerful. While trying to get ready for the town play, confessing to Li, Sakura must seal this card and turn it into a Sakura card before everything and EVERYONE disappears. Everything becomes hopeless when she finds out that the person in the end who has the most magic has to give up the most important feeling that they have at that very moment. This means that Sakura or Li would have to give up their feelings towards to each other. What happens when Yue and Kero Beros get captured by the card...and then soon Li...? That just determines Sakura even more and the capture for the final card is just beginning. I would highly recommend this DVD to any Cardcaptors fan even though there are some changes such as voice changes and the use of their Japanese names rather than their English names. The animation is as good as ever and the excitment is back! So don't just sit there! Buy the DVD!

Its now Sakura's turn to say to Shoaron "I love you!",
By Elizabeth (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cardcaptor Sakura - The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card (Special Edition) (DVD)
This movie is full with love and action. Cardcaptor Sakura is maybe in Japanese, but it takes you to a new world. Even if its a cartoon, its a nice anime. This movie I thought was as good as the first movie. I really like the colors on here, they make it stand out. The structure is nicely done. Put that aside and lets start out with the basics. If CC (Carly Mckillip, Jordin Kilik etc.) was acting on this and Nelvana was on this, I bet they would cut every single part of Sakura and Shoaron having a crush on each other. I bet it would be just a half in hour movie. I bet that on the end, Sakura would be glad that Shoaron is back and instead of saying "I love you" to Shoaron, I would think Sakura AVALON would say "Im glad you back!" or "We finally captured all of the cards!" or something. This is not waste of your money. I promise. This movie is about the sixth grader Sakura who is in a play. She plays as the princess! The lead role! Shoaron and Meiling come back from Hong Kong when Sakura tries to tell her true feelings to Shoaron. Some strange presence that Sakura senses seems like its a Clow Card and it is... the last and final one called "The Sealed Card". Sakura has to capture it before time runs out when everyone disappears...

I would recommend watching this in Japanese with English subtitles. For this movie, it seems the voices are not all the same. Kero doesn't sound as deep voiced as he did in the series. Sakura's and Madison's voices are different as well. I didn't wait to see if Li's or Meilin's voices had changed or not. I switched over to the Japanese dialouge. In seeing this movie, some things made sense more that they didn't seem to in the dubbed series. As in why Li always seemed to run like the wind whenever he was around Julian. Julian isn't all that he seems to be. Meilin has also taken a big turn in her personality for the better. I really liked her character in this movie. Kero is also great in this movie. Providing insight to the sealed card, and comedy relief regarding his enormous appitite. Throughout the whole movie, Sakura looks for the chance to tell Li her deepest feelings for him. Will she finally get to tell him before it's too late and everything disappears? Including those she loves? Wonderful story. A must see! Go get it! You won't be disappointed!

Expanded cut...or not?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cardcaptor Sakura - The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card (Special Edition) (DVD)
I won't say anything new about this astonishing movie 2 : it's absolutely sublime and I definitely don't regret to have ordered it from amazon, even thought I already had the fansubbed version...But well, since nothing is perfect, I would say that I've been pretty deceived to not encounter this famous "Expanded cut - 9 additional minutes"...I was expecting it so much that I even started dreaming about it!...So please, if those 9 min are HIDDEN somewhere in the DVD, would someone bother to tell me where?(I'm not talking about the kero special, this one was in the extras...I'm talking about a real extension of the movie itself)

This movie will "Catch You, Catch Me"!,

This movie was my first glimpse into the world of Cardcaptor Sakura. It captured me faster than a Clow Card!!!!
I had never seen the dubbed version on American TV so I had no preconcived notion as to how the characters should sound and I found them delightful, especially Tomoyo (she appeals to the bookworm in me). Having now watched the anime in Japanese I find that the english pronunciation of names is fairly accurate and the dialogue is well translated. Though I'm sure it is confusing to fans of Cardcaptors, the 'english' personalities of the characters are more in line with their Japanese counterparts from the original anime and the manga. They are supportive of each other and set a great example for kids (the movie is rated PG though so you may want to screen it beforehand) but at the same time they are complex enough to be enjoyed by adults. I recomend this movie to anyone, period. ~Aldalote~

In this movie, Sakura finds out how she feels about Syaoran. Her class is doing a play for the festival and Sakura stars as princess. Syaoran and Melin come to the festival and bumps into Sakura at the amusment park. Every time Sakura wants to tell Syaoran how she feels, she gets interrupted. The day before Sakura's class does the play, she and her friends go to the amusment park. When they enter the mirror house, they feel the precence of a Clow Card. Some of Sakura's Sakura Cards get stolen from a strange girl. At the play the next day, Yamazaki gets hurt and can't play the prince at the play. Syaoran said he knew all the lines and was willing to do it. During the play, people started to disappear. At the end, Sakura finally tells Syaoran how she feels about him.
