This new volume in the "Requisites in Anesthesiology" series delivers succinct, yet comprehensive, clinically oriented coverage of cardiac and vascular anesthesia. It explores everything from the pathophysiology of the various cardiovascular conditions, through their clinical implications and surgical management, to the relevant monitoring, anesthesia procedures, and phar-macology. Practical, "high-yield" content makes this book ideal as a refresher for certification or recertification, and as a reference for everyday clinical practice.
  • Delivers in-depth guidance on trans-esopha-geal echocardiography (TEE) · pacemaker and ventricular assist devices · cardiopulmonary bypass machines · pharmacological interventions · off-pump CABG · vascular operations · heart/lung transplantation · and many other "hot topics" in the field.
  • Presents information in a bulleted format for quick, efficient reference.
  • Uses specially designed boxes to display key data on intraoperative monitoring · key clinical caveats · advantages and disadvantages of various drugs, monitoring approaches, and techniques · current controversies · case studies · and more-all at a glance.
  • Features more than 245 illustrations that clarify key aspects of pathophysiology, monitoring, and anesthesia administration.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bad Quick Ref., December 25, 2007
This review is from: Cardiac and Vascular Anesthesia: Requisites in Anesthesia Series (Hardcover)
This is a very 'no frills' quick reference for the basics that you need to know for your cardiac anesthesia rotation. Dont expect answers to the "pimp" questions in this book just the "need to knows" to get things done.

Not bad, but not a true reference like Kaplan or Hensley. What it does allow is popping into your bookbag and taking it with you.
