This is an okay product for the price. However I expected a little more quality. The chips are a step up from the cheapie plastic ones, but of course they are not as good as clay chips or even the clay/composite chips. The chips on the display case are different than the ones that come inside the package. The display shows a diamond design with white stripes, the ones inside have a suited design with no white stripes. Also the chips appear to have a dirty, stained look to them unlike the slick, clean look on the display case. The felt playing surface included is just plain green. It would have been nice if it had hold'em markings on it. Bottom line...for $19.99 or less this is a good product and I recommend it for fun home tourny games. But Cardinal Industries could have put a little more effort into this package.

3.0 out of 5 stars Variable Quality a Big Problem, June 20, 2004

I have purchased four of these sets, in order to have enough chips for a large tournament. I discarded the felt and cheap cards. Three of the sets had nice, clean, sharply printed, and brightly colored chips. The fourth set had chips that were a dull "smeared" appearing surface. Not that big an issue, until I realized that the chips were just enought different in thickness that they did not stack evenly. A stack of 20 of the dull chips is one chip taller then a stack of the "clean" chips!! This is a potential disaster, requiring manual counting of every single chip!! I hope to exchange the bad set. If you're only buying one set, there's no problem with these hefty low cost chips. If you're buying more than one, I would make sure you could exchange them if they don't match.

Well the piece of felt is just an inch bigger than a joke. We used it so I can't complain too much, but don't buy this kit for the felt. That might bug you.

The chips are great for the price. They are evenly divided among 4 colors it might have been better if there were a few more whites and less greens, but that is picking nits.

Yes they are not as good as clay chips, but these and 80 bucks in your pocket feels pretty darn good.

The rack is nice, but they don't seem to sit on each other securly which makes them less useful for large tournaments (I purchased 2 sets and a turntable.)

Still for value I like the turntable a little more. It's the same price and a bargain without issue.

I have purchased 5 of these! The sets are so nice. The chips are heavy and feel and look authentic to casino chips. I can not believe how cheap they are selling this. Worth more!

As an Australian buyer, the shipping costs and exchange rate make the failings of this set a little more obvious. Many criticisms are identified in other reviews. The plain green felt would have been SO much better with some markings - and the storage tin requires it to be folded, creasing the felt into little hills. The cards are adequate but don't feel durable. The 50 chips feel great, but equal numbers of colors make it hard to set different values. I'm concerned about reports of differing chip thicknesses between sets, as I really need some more for a 4 person game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed!, April 16, 2009
This review is from: Cardinal Industries Deluxe Texas Hold 'Em Set in Tin (Toy)
I do not recommend anyone to buy from this seller, Cardinal Industries. I bought The Deluxe Texas Hold'Em Set in a Tin container, supposedly NEW. After opening the container I found that the plastic containing the chips was ripped and missing the dealer button, missing 28 chips and one of them is broken.
The return policy states that Items should be unopened or in original condition, how can we know what's missing without opening the container?
This is a rip-off!!!
Save your money and buy from someone else.

My husband and I bought this poker set for our cousin for the holidays. It was an instant hit. The chips and cards are of good quality, and the felt playing surface included with the set is one of the best features, as it makes the playing experience seem more professional and fun. Really great gift for both males and females, as long as they are interested in poker. Also, it's great to bring to a family get together, as the tin box is not too bulky or heavy like the aluminum-cased sets are. Highly recommended!
