5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
This was a great video and a great workout. I normally drop workout programs after the first couple of times but I have been doing Cardio Karaticise for almost two months and don't intend to stop. I have already started feeling my arms and legs toning up and my endurance is greatly improving. The video is a lot of fun and with the instructional section it is really easy...

2.0 out of 5 stars Severely repititious
Yes, the quality is poor, but beyond that, the repetitiveness is maddening! The odd side step/arm twist exercises go on for eternity and don't seem very effective. The one positive is that the video is safe for your joints but it's not the best workout.

This was a great video and a great workout. I normally drop workout programs after the first couple of times but I have been doing Cardio Karaticise for almost two months and don't intend to stop. I have already started feeling my arms and legs toning up and my endurance is greatly improving. The video is a lot of fun and with the instructional section it is really easy to follow. I also like the length of the workout. My whole body feels completely worked out and I like the time dedicated to my abs and thighs. I am really excited now to get home and start Karaticise. It is a great end to a stressful day at work. I strongly recommend it to anyone in any age group.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it., May 5, 2002

I bought the video based on the recommendations and I am pleasantly surprised. While not the slick production number of some other kickboxing exercise videos, Cardio Karaticise isn't bad. If you want a Hollywood production number with a cute, spunky aerobics instructor exhorting you on to new levels of suffering then this isn't for you.

However, if you just want to flail your arms and legs around long enough not to have to always wear pants with elastic waistbands then this might be a video to add to your collection. While the exercises are aerobic they don't have the jarring motions that can be tough on the older exerciser nor do they have the bouncing type motions. It can also be done in tight spaces. The exercises are good for beginner to intermediate levels and where joint pain may be a problem.

I would rate the exercises as being intermediate and if that is too fast just do every other one. That's what I did and I was still sweating like a pig after 20 minutes. This isn't quite kickboxing nor is it self-defense. It's more like a Tai Chi on fast foward.

The tape is a little pricey but I will keep this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best one yet!, March 5, 2002

This one will make you sweat. It's 50 minutes of low impact aerobics that will have you drenched by the time it's done. Easy to follow, though some of the routines are a little confusing at first, but in no time you should get the hang of it. I need a workout that doesn't take up much room to do it in because I have a small, cluttered apartment. I also need a workout that has no jumping up and down for the same reason - my downstairs neighbors would come after me with shotgun if I did. There's about 5 minutes of jumping jacks in this workout, but that can be modified so you don't have to actually jump and make too much noise. The rest of the workout is virtually noise free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Upper Body Toning That Gets Results., February 22, 2001

I highly recommend this video to anyone who is looking for a very motivational workout video. It is easy to follow and very safe on the joints. I loved the fact that the instructor placed a lot of emphasis on the upper body, which most of my other tapes don't. She really makes you work on your arms and waist, and for me that is a huge plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Workout, January 20, 2001

This is a great video that really gets you moving. I had the privilage of actually doing a class taught by Liz Weaver in her Burson, CA Studio, and it was AWESOME. The Shou Shu style is apparent in the workout but it is surprisingly joint friendly. I was very impressed with the class which is why I purchased the video. It is a full body low-impact workout that also tones and firms. It is a must have.

This is a great workout video that leaves you feeling energized when you are done. It is gentle on the joints, especially the knees and really works and tones those problem areas. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a total body workout and doesn't want to go to the gym to get it.

This is a great workout with a gift- it is KIND to your knees and other joints. I got the dual benefit of a cardio workout AND firming/toning workout at the same time. What a fun way to exercise. I have tried other similar workout videos, but this is far superior. Very happy and fit in Washington State.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this boring video, November 21, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Cardio Karaticise [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I'm shocked by the positive reviews of this workout. For one thing, the video itself seems very low quality. The music and background are both bad. Also, the background people are unprofessional. They look like they're going to crack up every time the camera's on them--plus they don't seem like they're even trying.

I could overlook all that if the workout were good, but it's not. It's so BORING and not very challenging. For example, for about ten minutes all you do is right punch, left punch. I almost fell asleep on my feet. And there's another part with this weird arm choreography that is just so ineffective. It seems like it's just for show. This workout doesn't meet my definition of cardio at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the wait, May 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Cardio Karaticise [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I just recently bought the video and was eager to try it based on the other reviews that people had left. When I got it, I popped it into the VCR to watch and I have never seen a more poorly made video. It looks as though someone grabbed a camcorder from their closet and decided to make a workout tape. I was very dissatisfied with it and found that all it was basically good for was a laugh as the exercises were not very effective. I wouldn't recommend this video to anyone, and definately not for the price that I paid for it.
