Well written, clear with helpful charts and "pearls". This is not an exhaustive review and has minimal pathophysiology information - so look elsewhere for that. It is a clinically oriented, good beginning text or review for the boards. Each topic is covered in a short section from several perspectives - disease entities, classes of meds, and then integrated by presenting complaint. I've just finished reviewing for the PANRE and found it very helpful. - E. Davidson, PA-C, DC

As a new Nurse Practitioner with a Cardiology practice, this book is a nice introduction to many topics that I encounter on a daily basis, caring for patients with cardiac issues.
Easy to read, smooth reading..Not too technical, but gets basic topics accross, and it serves as a nice transition for new practitioner.

This book was okay for a primary care PA as an overall review, but definitely nowhere near detailed enough for anyone in a cardiology specialty.

I saw that one person wrote it is not a book for a specialist.....this is true, but it IS one of my favorite books. I am an acute care NP student and I am getting ready to start a cardiology ICU clinical. I am re-reading this book for the third time in two years in preparation for my clinical. What I like about it is that she does not just regurgitate facts and figures. She really makes a point to tell the reader what is important. I have picked up on key points as being from recent and important studies such as ALLHAT and JNC 7. I like that she points out clinical pearls and directs the reader to important criteria to pay attention to.

Yea for Theresa for having the guts to write this book. It is a good one for rotations, as I believe that she intended.
