Very helpful but sometimes too detailed.,
This review is from: The Cardiology Intensive Board Review Question Book (Paperback)
Used it the last few weeks before the boards. If you need tons of questions in case format to prep your mind for thinking "board exam style" then this will definitely help. It is the most recent publication of the question books out there - and yet it still has a few outdated guidelines. And some of the questions are excessively difficult and not used on the boards (i.e. pharmacokinetics). But if you are the type of person that needs to go over tons of questions to prepare for the boards, then this book overall will help you focus and refresh your cardiology facts - especially during the final stretch before the boards. Good luck!

I used this to study for the boards along with ACCSAP. The ACCSAP practice exams were overall better, probably because more of them were of the long clinical vignette style that the exam has adopted and they were more current. The questions here have some of that and some of the longer questions. Overall it's not a bad thing to do to run through several hundred questions right before the boards, although I wouldn't rely on this as your only source of questions. Unfortunately it's a bit dated so it doesn't incorporate some of the latest stuff (last few years) but some things haven't changed much in cardiology (e.g. congenital) where others have.

good questions, ANSWERS are WRONG,

This review is from: The Cardiology Intensive Board Review Question Book (Paperback)
This book was edited very poorly. I am suprised to see so many questions that the answer is obviously not for the question written. Many questions say all ofthe following are true except? and the answers tell you which one of answer choices was correct. This makes it very hard to study. Once sectiont he answers andthe questions are numbered incorrectly. For example Answer to Question #1 is not found until to get to answer # 10 in once section. Very odd to see this type of product from people like Topol and Griffin. By the way I admire both of these people very much. I idolize Topol. This is not a hit on them. I really was suprised!. Maybe the fellows edited this (2nd edition). I have used it to study, but would be embarrassed to sell or Give my copy to anyone I actually am friends with!.
