Established as the standard reference on cardiopulmonary bypass, Dr. Gravlee's text is now in its Third Edition. This comprehensive, multidisciplinary text covers all aspects of cardiopulmonary bypass including sections on equipment, physiology and pathology, hematologic aspects, and clinical applications.

This edition features a new section on cardiopulmonary bypass in neonates, infants, and children and a new chapter on circulatory support for minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Review

Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), 14-MAY-08, Volume 299, Issue 18, Colleen G. Koch, MD, MS, Department of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH -- "The third edition of Cardiopulmonary Bypass: Principles and Practice has been updated to reflect advances in surgical innovation and developments in perfusion management. The authors have restructured the present edition by expanding sections on neonates, infants, and children, while adding 2 new chapters on patient safety and teamwork as they relate to patient outcome. With 2 additional editors, this recent addition brings added insight from the surgical and perfusion perspectives... "The achievement of the book is to provide a comprehensive source of basic science principles and clinical information about extracorporeal circulation. This textbook offers insights from each of the professions managing the care of patients requiring cardiopulmonary support. As the cardiac surgical field has developed more innovative surgical approaches to treating patients with cardiovascular disease, perfusion management has developed management strategies to allow for successful patient outcomes. The text facilitates an understanding of the application of techniques for cardiopulmonary bypass as it has furthered advances in cardiac surgery."-Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)

4.0 out of 5 stars splendid textbook for cardiopulmonary bypass November 22, 2007
Format:Hardcover
This is probably an first and only book that covers all the necessary knowledge for cardiopulmonary bypass.
A splendid textbook, indeed.
Although I have a previous version, this version is much improved and renewed, and worth having it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The bible for CPB June 23, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
A fantastic book!
All my questions could be figured out when I look into this book.
A tons of graphs and well organized tables help readers understand easily.
And every chapter has very essential summary at the end of it.
If somebody studies on CPB, this book is not an option.
