This stuff is awesome as a Ph balancer. And it gives a great source of calcium too. If my girlfriend gets an upset stomach, this will cure it in seconds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doctor Recommended, October 24, 2009

My doctor has recommended this for acid problems (e.g. GERD). Let's see, it buffers your stomach acid and also provides some needed minerals.
I could choose this or I could pay more for antacids that are filled with brain damaging aluminum and other dubious additives. Gee I wonder which product I should choose?

For me this works as a replacement for sodium bicarbonate. Helps to reduce stomach and bodily acids without all of the salt. It is a good source of potassium, which most of us don't get enough of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Cardiovascular Research - Tri-Salts, 200 g powder (Health and Beauty)
Although there are other name brands of tri-salts I've used Ecological Formulas since the early 90's because their quality control is superb. Tri-Salts are an easy way to keep your body's pH balanced for improved health and increased energy. The typical western diet makes our body's pH too acid, which leads to inflammation, decreased and abnormal cellular function and diseases. Acidity makes us feel lethargic or fatigued. A body that's too acid usually has no weight loss or has very slow weight loss regardless of a healthy reduction in calories and a regular exercise program.
Tri-salts restores our balance by restoring our electrolytes, which is responsible for the conductivity of bio-electrical impulses and the pH of our body's fluids. The mV (millivolt) of a healthy adult is 65, a cancer patient's is between 15 - 20 mV. Research is showing how the relationship between the mV and pH correlates and also correlates to many diseases. Because of limited time and space I'm not giving you the complete mechanics of how this works, just a limited overview so please take time to read one of the books on the subject to fully understand it. I began reading about the acid-alkaline balance in the 80's with this book Acid and Alkaline which lacks all of the research that's been going on for several decades but the book does explain what to eat (instead of taking TriSalts), gives some basic info and only costs a penny here on Amazon. Search "acid-alkaline" on Amazon for the newer books for the new research and a better understanding of how and why this works.

Tri-salts are also used successfully by chemically sensitive patients to stop reactions. When taken immediately after an exposure or at the start of a reaction it lessons and often turns off symptoms. Many people have commented how it helps their overall symptoms improve.

As already mentioned here, Tri-salts are also used for occasional acid reflux and heartburn.

You can make buffered Vitamin C with Tri-Salts if C tends to upset your tummy. It's very inexpensive if you buy the powdered Vitamin C Crystals Ascorbic Acid 100% Pure Powder, 8 Ounces (Pack of 2) C and mix with Tri-Salts. Instead of buying the 1-pound container, I recommend that you buy the 2-8 ounce bottles at the same price. Vitamin C does not have a long shelf life once the bottle is opened. Like Douglas Labs or other brand names of powdered buffered Vit C, the flavor of buffered powdered C takes some getting used to. I usually mix a teaspoon in a small amount of water and slam it back followed by a large glass of water to clear my palate. You can always mix it with juice (esp. good in orange juice) or flavored waters.
