5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bluetooth headset
this headset is compact and powerful enough to handle all my bluetooth needs. I have had multiple other bluetooth headsets by other manufacturers and this is the best of them all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not reliable and no support
I bought two of these in August 2008. They worked quite well with my Treo 800w and a Sanyo phone. For some reason they do not work as well with my HTC Diamond. People keep complaining that I am cutting out and they have trouble hearing me. Now, three months after purchase, one of them will no longer charge using the Cardo wall charger that came with the unit or the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value, Features......comfort could be better, December 17, 2007
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
I've owned a few other headsets in the past (Motorola H500 and Blueant X3 Micro). I returned the H500 because people couldn't hear me. I really liked the Blueant, but when I lost it, I decided to give the S800 a try because of the advertised features. I loved the idea of the 3 speed dial numbers, and as it turned out, this is my favorite feature of the S800 (very handy). I also really like the volume control wheel. With my Blueant I always had to stop and think about which button was Up and which was Down. The S800 makes this very intuitive. My only complaint with the S800 is with the comfort. When I first got it, I noticed that it wasn't as comfortable as my Blueant. It's not uncomfortable....just not as comfortable as the Blueant. And I don't usually wear the headset for extended periods of time.

Bottom line: For the money, this is an excellent headset with a ton of features....I just wish it was a bit more comfortable. If I was going to choose between the X3 Micro or the S800, I'd probably go with the S800 just because I think the few extra features outweigh what it lacks in comfort.

People keep complaining that I am cutting out and they have trouble hearing me. Now, three months after purchase, one of them will no longer charge using the Cardo wall charger that came with the unit or the USB charger. I registerd the product and for a week have been emaling support and calling Cardo attemtping to get help. I cannot get anyone to respond. So I'll be throwing the defective Cardo away after 3 months and looking for a headset that works. I will probably buy somwhere other than Amazon so that I can return the device if it stops working.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent earpiece, July 15, 2008
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
I use my earpiece for about 3 hours a day. I talk with my spouse who drives for a living, and sometimes it is the only way we can communicate. I needed an earpiece that I could answer our second line easily without hanging up on my spouse. This fit the bill. It is easy to use, and is loud enough to be heard over my husbands truck on his end. I purchased 2 when my plantronics broke, to make life easy. We programmed both his phone and mine with both earpieces, and now it doesn't matter which one he grabs when he leaves. It works on both phones. No more confusion over the wrong earpiece! Sound quality is comparable to other bluetooth's we've tried, and fit is what you would expect from an earpiece. It is definitely worth the price amazon charges.

This headset is an absolute steal at the price.Only two problems.Whenever you turn it on, the volume is set at full loudness, which is really loud, and you have to toggle the dial 6 or seven times to get the volume down to a manageable level. Also, the earpiece is slightly too larage for my ear, and tends to slide out, but no big deal. This has to be the best value in a headset there is.My last headset was the very small expensive Jabra, BT800 or something for about $120. and this Cardo is much better. Buy a couple!

3.0 out of 5 stars Small but misses the mark, September 5, 2008
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
The Cardo S-800 is the first attempt into the hands free Bluetooth headset realm. It is small and the buttons are simple to use and far enough apart that my big fat fingers don't press what they aren't supposed to. I work inside a U.S. airport and the sound volume is poor as the unit does not fully insert into my ear canal. When I push the Cardo S-800 into my ear a bit it is plenty loud enough. Messing with the "coat hanger" ear piece does nothing to help with volume. I emailed Cardo and they said there are no other ear buds/pieces for this unit. So the price was okay and the size is nice and compact but unless the thing sits in your ear properly or you can find other ear buds to help fit it properly the volume for me is quite low (yes even when I'm not at the airport) and I find myself holding the Cardo with my index finger into my ear. Even while driving the headset fitment is poor enough to cause me to have to switch to a corded headset or to again push the cardo into my ear to hear well enough. Geeze I just cringe at the thought of spending over a $100 for the Aliph(?) and just hope thast it's better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cardo S-800 Review, July 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
This Bluetooth Headset is grade A, hands down. This earpiece has many features that that are not even available on my phone. This headset is much better than more expensive earpieces I have used in the past and is just as comfortable. It has a great size and is not heavy at all. It is adjustable and manuverable so when placed in the ear, thats where it will stay. The price paid for this earpiece is so little compared to all of past earpieces, I cant believe I never discovered it before. Yes I recommend this Bluetooth Earpiece.

4.0 out of 5 stars iGo A58 tip works with the Cardo S-800,, June 26, 2011

Although iGo does not list the S-800, I determined the their A58 tip works with the S-800

I bought this on Amazon from merchant Buy Accessories. The battery will not hold a charge overnight and only about 45 minutes of talk-time. My previous S-800 would hold a charge for several days. I'm wondering if Buy Accessories is selling old stock. I have sent them an email asking what my options are. Will update this post when I hear back from them.

Note that the low battery 1-star rating is for the unit I just purchased. My previous S-800 purchased two or three years ago was just fine (I lost it. Liked it well enough to buy another this past week)

5.0 out of 5 stars Works!, March 15, 2011
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
Does its job well. Many features. some I don't use. The wire ear piece isn't all that cheesey -- get over it.
Bottom line -- I can hear them, they can hear me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good sound & voice quality. Uncomfortable to wear., July 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cardo S-800 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
I'm happy with the quality of the sound & voice; however, the ear hook is made out of cheap bent wire (similar to coat hanger wire), making it very uncomfortable to wear even for a short period of time.
