3.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, but "typos" are annoying- more corrections needed., July 1, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Bar Cards Complete Set (California and Multistate Subjects) (Cards)
The cards review the basics of all of the areas of law as advertised- about 50 cards or so per subject. However, many cards (about 10% of the cards so far in my review of the MBE subjects) have "spell checker" type errors. I bought them from the publisher, and some corrected cards were included, but many errors remain. E.g.- the Contracts cards frequently spell "promisee" (the recipient of a promise) as "promise", which is at best distracting, and at worst a critical barrier to understanding of the rules. Overall the cards are a convenient way to study, and a good time saver versus writing out all of your own flashcards for the elements of causes of action, rules of law.

5.0 out of 5 stars bar cards- good survey of black letter law, September 29, 2001

I've used all of the study aids getting through law school. I'm currently studying for the California bar. This flash card set is somewhat bare-bones but it is a good foundation for providing the essential black letter law for each of the subjects on the bar. While it could be said that they are superficial, this is their beauty- just identifying the essentials. These cards hone down a very large amount of material into a manageable set that can be used as a basis for further detailed explanation in your prep process. Each subject is about 80 cards or so- far less than the law-in-a-flash series (which I also love). Adachi assumes that you already know the material- his goal is not to teach you - just to give the black letter law that the examiners will be looking for. Although some of his other material can be a bit pricey- these are a bargain. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply done, full of typos, July 5, 2009
This review is from: Bar Cards Complete Set (California and Multistate Subjects) (Cards)
I purchased these cards because I heard they were really helpful - am so disappointed. There are many typos, key words left out, and words typed over each other. Its as though no one ever bothered to proof them, even slightly. It makes simple law incomprehensible.
