This Toy's "R" Us exclusive is the perfect gift for anyone. The care bears originally started as greeting cards. Funshine bear was created to cheer people up. For the 20th anniversary of the Care Bears, Play Along Toys has released 6 of the most popular carebears with more on the way. Each of these loveable characters comes with a video of the 80's t.v show. Funshine bear's video is called "The Great Race", in wich the care bears have a race and the winner gets to be king for a day. But when the bad guys come, they try and cheat to win the race. It's basically a care bears twist on the tortois and the hair. Mainly for younger children, but I found myself enjoying it as well.

I can't believe Care Bears are back! I grew u pwith a well loved and well worn Funshine bear. He's still in great shape, just a little faded and a little dirty. I loved these bears as kid, they with "My Little Pony", "She-ra" and many others were great toys for us 80s kids. Simple toys that let your imagination do all the work! Love them, I'll probably buy another for myself!

My son enjoyed "The Care Bears Movie," so I purchased Funshine Bear and the accompanying video. I overestimated his interest in actually having the bear. He's got a "lovey" toy already, so this toy is just another on the pile of stuffed animals that he's not interested in playing with. I would say that you should purchase the bear only if your child enjoys playing with stuffed animals (I hate to be stereotypical, but maybe it's a girl thing). The movie is pretty good. He seems to like the "race" idea, since he enjoys "racing" around the house, anyway. There are some good "fair play" ideals introduced in the movie and some lessons on cheating. He was a little hesitant to watch it at first-- apparently the little bad guy is a little scary, so be aware of this and screen it with your child at first. I made the mistake of popping the tape in the VCR and then doing some housecleaning, only to be called back and asked to sit down and hold hands. Overall, it's one of those standard stuffed animals with a decent movie.

funshine is a great care bear to add to your collection or to start one,its cute hugable and lovable

i think that you should make more of these adorable and loveable care bears and movies and shows every thing that you could make of the care nears because i absolutly love these care bears and i believe that the little kids will like it and that there parents will buy these stuff for their kids because they are very educational for the kids so thats why they should make more stuff of the care bears.

THE BEAR: Funshine Bear is very well made and extremely durable. I seriously doubt any kid could (or would) try to pull out his eyes or nose. His mouth doesn't rip nor the sunshine on his tummy, or the hearts on his feet or the single red plastic one on his back side. So five stars there. Then there's the obvious, he's adorably cute and funny sunny. I like the way he talks with a smile in his voice. He's very soft, cute and huggable. Aww. ^_^

THE VIDEO: "The Great Race." It is a good video but note that Funshine Bear is NOT the main character in it. That is my main complaint. I feel that if a bear comes with a video, then the video should have the bear as the leading role or at least the top three. Funshine Bear is cute in this and has a role, he is part of the race; however, the Elephant, Rabbit and a bad guy, have the leading parts. I don't know if this is the same for the other videos but Funshine Bear is the only character on the cover of the box so naturally I assumed he'd be the main character. I don't know if it is the same for the other bears and videos.

MY DAUGHTER'S FEELINGS: My five year-old daughter loves Funshine Bear. She received it as a birthday gift and enjoys the video too. During many videos we watch together, she will get up and leave the room, but not this one so I know she loves it. Plus, the video has a good moral at the end that reminds me of an aesop's fable.

I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase of the Funshine Carebear.
It wasn't for a kid it was for my girlfriend whom lost her original one that she had since she was a kid to a pet dog.
When she opened the box and seen the bear she was so happy and excited.
It made her holidays and gave me some great brownie point's.

these bears are the best thing since sliced bread. they are the cutest things and thats all i have to say! eeeeeeeee! :oD

When funshine is with the rest of the bears you now you will have a great day all of the bears are great but funshine has that glow about him and he is a boy. We had always that he was a girl but recently read the books and found out he is indeed a boy.

It is so wonderful to see these toys back out. My daughter is almost 2 and she loves her CareBears. She got her first one for her 1st birthday and has been mad about them since. She takes them everywhere and can't sleep with out them. The videos are so sweet they teach friendship, sharing and caring. She insists on watching "teddys" all the time. Though the tags say not to, I have had to place them in the wash many times. They have held up wonderfully. It is one obsession I don't mind and actually have fun helping her build her collection. Now if I could just find a Toddler bed set!!!
