3.0 out of 5 stars Care Bears:Adventures in Wonderland review
It's sappy to the core. The story about finding the princess and ending up getting her doubleganger to replace her sounds like a bad Prince & the Pauper plot. Even with the scaryface at the end,I still find the villian song dull & droopy. I seen scarier things on WCW Monday Nirto in its dying years. The Rapping Cheshire Cat is almost as bad as the rapping dog from...

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Children's Movie, June 18, 2005
This review is from: Care Bears:Adventures in Wonderland [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I remeber this movie so well. I grew up with CareBears (more or less), and this one movie always stood out for me for some reason. It always made me laugh so much! Granted I was about 5 when I first saw it (years after it came out) and made my dad tape it though... I'm sure that had something to do with my liking it so much.

But then again, I still found it funny at age 9 and 10 (after forgetting about it for awhile during a move), and even my parents liked it as far as children's movies go. It's a sweet, simple movie, but it won't overly bore you out of your skull like other movies for preschoolers can. The songs are tolerable to likable-- I was esp. fond of the Chesire Cat's song and the last song.

And unlike the other 2 CareBear movies, this one has no overly scary character that might frighten the more timid children. If you're concerned about that, I would definetly reccommend this one over the other 2 (though those 2 never scared me, and I was a kid who could NEVER watch the nightmare scene in "All Dogs Go to Heaven").

What's it about? It pretty much retells the story of "Alice in Wonderland" but with a twist. Well actually, it would be better said that it uses characters from "Alice in Wonderland" for a new story that involves the CareBears because the White Rabbit is Swiftheart's uncle. Anyways, the CareBears and a girl named Alice help to save Wonderland from an evil wizard (and his stupid henchmen) who wants to become king. The princess of Wonderland has gone missing, and since Alice looks exactly like the princess, she fills in while some of the CareBears search for the missing princess. And throughout this whole story, Grumpy desparately tries to find something to eat! The end sequence is esp. priceless.

I have to say it's my favourite of the CareBear movies. I still find it very fun and entertaining all these years later, though that's not saying much since I'm still very fond of cartoons. Maybe this movie helped with that.

3.0 out of 5 stars Care Bears:Adventures in Wonderland review, November 10, 2010
This review is from: Care Bears:Adventures in Wonderland [VHS] (VHS Tape)
It's sappy to the core. The story about finding the princess and ending up getting her doubleganger to replace her sounds like a bad Prince & the Pauper plot. Even with the scaryface at the end,I still find the villian song dull & droopy. I seen scarier things on WCW Monday Nirto in its dying years. The Rapping Cheshire Cat is almost as bad as the rapping dog from Titanic:The animated movie. The "Im Mad About Hats" song is cheesy & phoned in a mile away. Infact, alot of these songs are cheesy and phoned in mile away. The cast is bland at best. The upside is that the film is harmless enough for kids and the animation is nice. The Carebears version of wonderland is just fun & imaginative as the Disney one. Overall,Buy it if you are a fan of the Care-Bears watch it. I give this tape 4 out of 10.

This review is from: Care Bears:Adventures in Wonderland [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I LOVE this movie and have ever since I was really little (I'm 25 now.) If I could only find it on DVD. It's defintely worth buying if you still have a VHS player. I still have a copy of the movie, I just can't watch it anymore!

Though I felt the overall story was mediocre compared to the first 2 movies it was done pretty well. I enjoyed all the songs, especially the first 2. Great movie for a kid and a kid at heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars For Any Care Bear Lovers., August 3, 2001

If you are familiar with the Care Bear movies, this one is the most colorful of the series; and if you are not familiar with them then this will be an extra special treat. The plot combines the Care Bears and the Care Bear Cousins with the hapless Alice of from Lewis Carol's novel, Alice in Wonderland. Complete with a white rabbit, a mad hatters, not to mention cheesy-yet-catchy song. Definitely for anyone who enjoys animated films.
