Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 1-3The Mystery of the Pirate Ghost is a below average mystery in which Otto and Uncle Tooth, two green lizard-like animals, capture a "ghost" who has been plaguing Boogle Bay . Hayes' illustrations show anthropomorphic creatures in a seaside village with nautical decor. The Care Bears' Party Cookbook is a collection of easy recipes for snacks and desserts that can be assembled without using a stove. It contains the usual cautions about safety and cleanliness while the recipes and illustrations are, like the Care Bears themselves, a trifle sweet but innocuous. In the most entertaining and amusing of the three, Deputy Dan, a Western version of "Amelia Bedelia," follows the sheriff's instructions literally as he finds and arrests the Scrambled Egg Gang. Raglin's colored cartoon-style drawings reinforce Rosenbloom's corny humor. This series seems to be modeled on the "I Can Read" series and other books for beginning readers but is inferior to the best of those other books. Jean Hammond Zimmerman, Willett School Lib . , South River, N.J.

I remeber this cookbook from when I was a kid. (I am 24) The recipes are very good and easy to follow. I now work as an after school teacher and am always on the lookout for no bake cookbooks but can never find them. If you work with kids and want to do a cooking project but don't have access to a stove, this book can't be beat! The heart tarts are wonderful.

My younger sister had this book when she was a child and I found it and got it for her. WE both laughed and remade some of the recipes for old time sake it is great to have if you have small children that want to help you cook.

this is great non-bake recipes for little ones and I love them too .... I love the peanut butter heart tarts .... I make them for myself. I had a book and lost it sometime after my daughter went off to college ... so I bought a used one on here. Still love the recipes!
