My daughter received the "my first" love-a-lot bear as a present when she turned one, and immediately she began snuggling it and carrying it around. She likes to have the bear in her crib with her when she sleeps. I think the gentle jingle sound is soothing to her when she shakes the bear. The bear's little curl of hair began to look frayed within a week of having it. But until I read the previous post, I never imagined the hair would pull out of the head completely. I think I'll just cut the hair off. Aside from that issue, I think this toy is fine for one-year olds, and my daughter loves hers very much.

This is a very durable toy. Care Bears were enjoyable 20+/- years ago & they're still appealing to small children (and some adults). This particular Care Bears has a rattle in it so it's probably a good choice for small children 2 - 5 years old.

I purchased this care bear unknowing that it had a rattle inside; it was not in the description. I removed the rattle and my daughter loves it just as much cause "mommy operated on it and made her better". Good for a baby but not a 3 year old.

My little girl loves this plush. She loves bears and loves purple, so this was a must for her. It's constructed well and has been all over the country with us without losing parts or any of the plush feel. Great tag-along for a little one.

Note to the negative review below - please read the recommended age for the toy. If purchased for the recommended age group (3 years +), there is nothing dangerous about this toy.

MY DAUGHTER GOT THIS BEAR AS A GIFT. sHE IS 5 MONTHS OLD AND IT IS HER ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TOY. WHEN SHE SEES THIS BEAR HER FACE LIGHTS UP. WELL I HAD HER PLAYING WITH THIS TOY AND I SHE HAD RIPPED THE HAIR, THE LITTLE CURL COMPLETELY OFF THE DOLL. SHE HAD THAT IN HER MOUTH AND THE DOLL IN HER HAND!! PLEASE BE CARFUL, ITS A GOOD THING I WAS RIGHT THERE WITH HER OR SHE COULD OF CHOKED!! I DID PUT A PHONE CALL INTO THE MANUFACTURER, AGAIN PLEASE BE CARFUL :o)
