Product Description
An unabashed self promotion by self proclaimed expert in the treatment of the eyes and ears. No date on book nor publishing company. Appears late 19th or early 20th century. Essentially consists of 160 pages of explanation (usually not correct)(for instance, the majority of cases of deafness is caused by "Catarrh of the Eustachian tube) of the causes of eye and/ear diseases. His polemic consists of graphic description of treatments "by the knife" and emphasizing his "Mild Medical Method" (which is never explained, but there is a tear-out in back where the buyer can list his symptoms and send them to the "doctor" with an unspecified sum of money. The doctor will diagnose the problem and send the remedy by mail). A supreme example of the "snake oil" type of medical practice before the laws in the 1920's tightening up the definitions of "doctor".
