The words in this book are so beautiful. To my mind they are almost Biblical; not that they are religious, not at all. But I have often imagined how beautiful the words of the Bible's poetry must be in its original language and this book, written in English, to me, captures the beauty of words I imagine from the Bible. The turn of phrase, the new combinations of words she uses to communicate are pure pleasure to read. I believe this is her first book but I hope it is far from her last. Reading it is a joy.
Beyond the beauty of her words is great wisdom. I consider myself an expert on Law of Attraction and I am gaining new insights and additional growth in my own understanding. I often read books in this genre, usually I find new approaches to use with my students to help as many people as I can to a fuller understanding. It is far less frequent that I gain a deeper understanding myself. Her wisdom and perspective are helping me deepen my own understanding.
The combination of beautiful words and deep wisdom make this a 'must read' on my recommendation list.
Thank you for this treasure. I look forward to completing the book.
As a well read student of the Law of Attraction, I have consumed many books on the subject, but most simply regurgitate the basics. Think happy thoughts, focus on what you desire and it will come to you. Well, if it were THAT simple then why isn't everyone successful with these processes? I believe strongly it is because few have the gut feelings necessary to really apply the teachings.
Ahnalira Koan has those gut feelings, because she looks within to find her Teacher and the answers that are profoundly right for her. Born from experience, study and a deep abiding faith in love, she has evolved into a dynamic and empathetic beacon in the Law of Attraction world. This wonderful book draws on her life experiences to show you how, with subtle shifts in thought and intention you can lead a happy life, no matter what circumstances are unfolding in front of you!
This succinct, well written, often funny and always moving dialog takes you beyond Law of Attraction 101 and shares with you how an evolved and awakened individual dealt with life's challenges, owned it all, built the life of her dreams and healed the wounds of the past.
Yes, I highly recommend this book for anyone searching for the next, cutting edge level of the Law of Attraction. I am certain I will read it again and again for its deep candor, but most of all it's love. Ahnalira Koan, I am hoping, will continue to share her wisdom with us all and I will continue to enjoy the blessings she shares with us!
Koan, unlike many "experts" in the field of enlightened consciousness, has actually lived. A former Jungian therapist, law of attraction advisor, horse whisperer and much more, she writes from a foundation that has brought her clarity and insight without ever telling her to stop seeking. It's a compelling read, no words wasted.
My favorites were her story about her filly, Fancy Free; John of God; and her realization that the popular law of attraction couldn't be the final answer to anyones integrated quest.
This books fits well with another product of hers I'd highly recommend: Align Within Guided Meditations by Ahnalira
As someone who was raised in a Christian Science household, I knew that I'd be seeing this book through the lens of someone who's eschewed the medical world and all its trappings for decades. I wondered if I'd be able to get past all that "medical hoo-ha" in order to find "the good stuff".
I decided to commit to reading up to the `page of my age' and see if it still held my interest. If I had to give up on it by the time I reached page 47, I'd know that I'd at least have given this book a decent shot before tossing it onto the trash heap.
I'm glad I did.
By page 20, she had my interest, describing how she came to be who she was and how she attracted her manifestations. The technical talk about Diabetes had died off and I was led down the path less filled with "how I handle Diabetes" and more filled with "what I know about life".
Koan's experiences with life to death to life; with poverty to wealth; with illness to health; and how she was (and is) able to maintain an incredibly positive and constructive attitude about everything...well, that's inspiring!
But the most fantastic revelation came around the middle of the book. I suddenly comprehended that it wasn't Koan who was doing the speaking - it was me. Everything she was saying was something I realized I already knew about but couldn't articulate fully. Like any good teacher, Koan merely put those feelings into words and lovingly reflected them back to me in a way that I could grasp.
For that gem alone (although there are MANY gems in this book), I highly recommend Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confession of a Diabetic. It is well worth the investment!
