Information that one wants to know about books as material objects is presented here.
This book although not very thick in comparison definitely is very thorough. For private collectors this book is a must have. How/where to store books, preservation. Great write up on dealing with books on water damage and various hazards such as pests etc. Also contains information on structure of a book. Metal vs. Wooden shelves are also an excellent writeup. Great reference, highly recommended.

This review is from: The Care of Fine Books. (Hardcover)
Book is lavishly illustrated with fine pen or pencil drawings. One chapter called "The Handling of Books" that is about 40 pages long. Another chapter shows how to oil a book and how to remove insects. Lots of interesting trivia.

If you know the right book and can condition it properly a $25 buy can be worth hundreds of thousands. This is an excellent how-to book.
