Currently, John is a technical director with Lockheed Martin in Eagan, Minnesota working on mission computers. His work encompasses developing the next generation mission computers for the F-35,P-3, F-16 and F-22 jet fighter aircraft. Building super computers that fly. His area of technical expertise is optical data networking.
In his prior assignment, John was on the executive Staff of Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA overseeing the operations of nearly 5000 engineers. John has also worked at Northrop Los Angeles CA, Honeywell in Minnesota and at Loral in Massachusetts. He has been an engineering manager for over 20 years directly involved hiring students and campus recruiting.
John has experience in all aspects of an engineer's career. Over the past 35 years his career has covered such areas as: developing infrared sensors for night vision, laser sensors for weapons, helmet mounted displays and fiber channel networks. This experience covers designing, testing and fielding of advanced electronics as well as over 20 years of experience managing engineering groups.
He has been an instructor with the Gordon Institute at Tufts University for over 10 years and lectured at the University of Arizona, Brown University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, University of Minnesota, Santa Clara University, Stanford University and University of California- Berkeley. John holds a BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Minnesota as well as a Business Administration Certificate.
John is a senior member of IEEE and has served the IEEE organization in various leadership positions. He was the Vice-Chair of the Career Maintenance and Development Committee under IEEE-USA. He is a strong supporter of PACE activities and has been active in New England, San Jose and Minneapolis sections. In 2000 John was presented a Citation of Honor Award by the PACE society.
