5.0 out of 5 stars Graduate School Decision, March 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am in graduate school, this book was recommended to me by Career Services. Am I suited for Management or should I drop out and go for a different career. I am a university employee, and decided to get a degree in management because I would not have to pay for it. I like my job, but don't love it. In order to advance I need a masters. I would have prefered getting my masters in speech, and working as a speech therapist, my school doesn't have speech pathology. I would have to take two years off from work, and pay, not only for school but for living expenses. This is a big decision for me, especially in this economy. This book is a usful tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful Tool, February 15, 2009
Career Anchors is a great tool for anyone - both those will into their careers and those starting out. For many, this will be a required assessment in a college class. For the interested, however, this tool provides fundamental insight into why we sometimes find our career/jobs enjoyable, while others we find horrific. The key is to understand your Anchor and then to measure the jobs/careers you are considering against these. Simple concept, insightful results. There are different versions of this tool available here on Amazon, any version of the participant workbook should provide some great personal insight.
