I've been an LVT for more than 2 years, and have been interested in a variety of careers other than simply the daily grind of a small animal clinic. As a woman approaching 50, I am not able to lift and bend and do what the 20 year old kids can do with a 150 pound dog, including lifting it onto a table or restraining it for a radiograph. This book has been on my wish list since the last Western Veterinary Conference and now that I have it I wish I'd bought it 2 years ago!

This is a fantastic collection of not only ideas, avenues, and possibilities, but it's also filled with links, resources, associations, and samples you might need to pursue your dreams in animal health careers, and related careers as well that can only be enhanced by becoming an AVMA licensed, registered, certified, or otherwise credentialed veterinary technician.

I personally met Rebecca Rose, CVT, in 2012 at WVC and was inspired to get her book because I could feel her enthusiasm and her expertise as the author. Wholly recommended if you are searching for something besides the traditional career we often think of as a veterinary technician. Great resource for under $30 - better investment than some of those books you had to buy for class!

This is a great book and gives all the information you need to get out into the workfield right after graduation. It is very helpful and I'm glad I bought it!

This book was required while I was in a vet tech program, and I didn't find it useful at all. I knew most of the information in it already, and the rest could be researched easily. Not to mention that our teachers told us most of it anyway. Not very helpful.
