4.0 out of 5 stars good for alternative/live cuts of good BOC, October 23, 2003
This review is from: Career of Evil (Audio CD)
This is definitely an album for someone who is familiar with the BOC. The songs are good but they are live and alternative cuts. A lot of people get kinda pissed about this but i liked it. you shouldn't buy this as a 'greatest hits album'. but i think it is definitely worth buying if youre a boc fan.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a botch-job!, March 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Career of Evil (Audio CD)
Who do we blame for THIS abortion? I've never liked repackages that haphazardly mix live & studio tracks, and that's what they did here. Only 5 studio versions turn up, but really-- "E.T.I.", "Beat 'Em Up" and "Black Blade"? Maybe on a more "comprehensive" colletion, but... And let's not ignore the ineptitude of having "Harvester Of Eyes" and "Flaming Telepaths", the middle of what had been a side-long suite on SECRET TREATIES, that just ends abruptly since there is no "Astronomy" here. Or any of their big hits, for that matter. In fact, not even "Career Of Evil"-- which makes you wonder at the album title. If you want a single-disc hits package, go with ON FLAME WITH ROCK AND ROLL instead!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bait and Switch, April 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Career of Evil (Audio CD)
I picked this CD up thinking that some BOC would be nice to have. Not their greatest hits but it looked OK. Don't buy this CD, not even used, it is not worth the effort of putting it in your CD player! Non-original versions of songs, bad recordings of the originals. I traded this one in as soon as I could. Go with Workshop of the Telescopes if you want a true BOC hits collection.
