Passion and Positivity Improve Performance,
By Albert Marcus (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Career Intensity: Business Strategy for Workplace Warriors and Entrepreneurs (Hardcover)
This book will motivate you to take action. Even if you're happy with your career, you will benefit from the hundreds (literally) of great ideas in this book. David V. Lorenzo has assembled some great advice and wrapped it in a continuous improvement model. Although the book contains several concepts that will not be foreign to business book diehards, Lorenzo applies them in unique ways. His focus is firmly on individual career success with an entrepreneurial twist. Even with the discount this book is a little on the pricy side but I promise you it is worth every penny. The inspiration you derive from the author's ideas and examples will return your investment in spades.

Ignite Your Career - Employee or Entrepreneur,
By
This review is from: Career Intensity: Business Strategy for Workplace Warriors and Entrepreneurs (Hardcover)
This is a playbook for mapping out your present and future. Whether you're in a cubicle or a cab, the front office or a home office, David Lorenzo's Career Intensity will light a fire.
If you're an employee, this book will give you ideas on how to own your career as if you owned the business - and how to profit from that attitude. If you're an entrepreneur, this book will give you insight on how to master the random encounters at your favorite coffee shop and generate buzz for your business. With a mix of Zig Ziglar's love for life and Tom Peter's lust for life, I encourage everyone to read this book.

If you are thinking about starting your own business, I highly recommend this book.
Career Intensity is a motivational how-to guide to taking control of your career. While the author is clearly partial to entrepreneurship, I agree that starting a business is the best way to control your own destiny. I found David Lorenzo's idea of building a personal brand to be particularly fascinating. It is a concept that recent graduates and seasoned professionals should both take seriously. Career Intensity offers many useful tips and tactics to help you build a successful career.

Positive, Upbeat and Informative,
By Joe Garrison "Joe G" (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Career Intensity: Business Strategy for Workplace Warriors and Entrepreneurs (Hardcover)
I read the author's blog everyday and I was really looking forward to the release of this book.
I was not disappointed. This book is terrific. This is a how-to manual for running your career - and even you life. I say this because many of Lorenzo's ideas can be applied to several aspects of life. When you first sit down and begin to read the introduction, you feel like you are having a conversation with a friend. This tone continues throughout the entire book. Lorenzo is positive, upbeat and very focused on helping you make the most of what you have to offer. My favorite parts of the book were: 1. The information on personal branding. This is outstanding advice. We all need to remember that perception (of us) is reality. 2. Creating buzz. This section appears to be designed for entrepreneurs but even people who work in the corporate world will benefit from the way the author breaks down word of mouth. 3. Preparation. This section is a goldmine of information for anyone who ever attends a meeting. Seth Godin was right. On the back cover he says that the first chapter of this book might be the most important thing you read this year or even this decade. I agree. I am going to recommend that my company give this book to every new hire and college intern. Maybe even some of us old-timers can learn a thing or two from Lorenzo's insight.

A Must Read for Anyone Interested in Success,
By Dan "Dan" (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Career Intensity: Business Strategy for Workplace Warriors and Entrepreneurs (Hardcover)
This is easily the best career book I have ever read. It is more like a personal marketing handbook. College graduates and mid-career professionals will all benefit from the wisdom contained in this short powerful book.
The author takes some tried and true business principles and applies them to the careers of individuals. This is a great idea. If it works for a business, why can't it work for a person? I found the book to be an easy, quick and enjoyable read. My only "knock" on it (and it is a minor one) is that I was looking for some action items after I finished reading it. The book had me so inspired that I wanted to go out and make changes in my career right away but I didn't know where to start. This might be by design - Can anyone say Career Intensity workbook? Somehow I see one in our future. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be successful. Even if you're happy in your career, this book is a must read.

Career Intensity will help you get off your [...] and get going. The advice it contains is valuable and effective. The most valuable attributes of this book are the positive tone and the inspirational stories. This is not an elitist manifesto that tells you how great the author is. It is a practical, down-to-earth guide that is beneficial to individuals in a corporate setting as well as people who are looking to start a business.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to make money and be happy doing it.

Essential for Ambitious Executives and Entrepreneurs,
By Catherine Kaputa (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Career Intensity: Business Strategy for Workplace Warriors and Entrepreneurs (Hardcover)
I have always felt that it's not enough to be good, you have to be perceived as superior by the people that determine your success. If you work in a company, that means you boss, senior management and your colleagues. If you run your own business, it's your clients, prospects and employees.
That's why David Lorenzo's book, Career Intensity, is so valuable. Lorenzo provides concrete ideas and steps to take that will show you how to ignite your career and "brand" yourself for business success. I especially liked the stories of executives and entrepreneurs of all stripes that demonstrate his career intensity principles.
