5.0 out of 5 stars Home Business I Started Thanks to This Book
The book may be small, but it contains valuable information you need to know to become a successful mystery shopper. You can save time and effort knowing how to get and apply to the many companies out there who hire mystery shoppers. I cannot tell you how satisfied I am with this book. I truly have gotten jobs right away and have worked steadily from the leads this book...

2.0 out of 5 stars Career Knowtes: Mystery Shopping, Seond Edition(How to Have fun and Make Money in a Career You Love Series)
There's not a lot of information in this book. Not worth the money to buy this book. The information written in the book is something you can get online. If you are really wanting to get more valuable information, I recommend the book "The Mystery Shoppers Manual" by Cathy Stucker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Value for Your Money in Mystery Shopping, February 17, 2004
By
This review is from: Career Knowtes: Mystery Shopping, Second Edition (How to Have Fun and Make Money in a Career You Love Series) (Paperback)
Writer Kailin Gow gives you a condense guide on mystery shopping. I was impressed how this simple guide can cover several aspects of mystery shopping from which industries could use mystery shoppers, what are the other jobs in mystery shopping besides being a mystery shopper, and ways mystery shoppers can own their own mystery shopping business. She doesn't give you false illusions, either, but lays out ways on how to become successful in the industry through smart business practices. She's appeared on over 30 radio shows and written in newspapers as an authority in mystery shopping in the U.S., Canada, England, and Australia. With a background in marketing and over 10 years of actual mystery shopping experience as a mystery shopper and recruiter, her credibility is solid. She may approach this book for those wanting to become mystery shoppers, but she also touches on how businesses can and should use mystery shoppers to help increase performance and service. I highly recommend this book if you want to learn more about mystery shopping, enter the business, or even think about hiring mystery shoppers.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Got Me Started!- the Mystery Shopping Book to Have, March 29, 2002
By
"momoftif" (Somewhere in the US) - See all my reviews
This workbook is better than most mystery shopping books out there, especially since it costs less, too! It introduces anyone to mystery shopping and tells it as it is. It also helps those who have some experience in it to those who have a lot and would like to own their own mystery shopping company. Best of all, it has real live LEADS in the U.S., Canada, and even England!!! Just like the title says, you CAN get started right away. As soon as I received my book, I applied immediately. The first assignment was fun and more than paid for the cost of this book. The leads alone is worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mystery Shopping Book I've Read!!!, May 25, 2002
No doubt about it, this book got me started immediately in mystery shopping. The leads are all from companies who ACTIVELY hire mystery shoppers!! Also, the sections on starting your own shopping business is invaluable - lots of examples, sample forms, and letters. If the information inside isn't enticing enough, the price is - it's the best money for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually written for Canadians, too, January 8, 2005
By
This review is from: Career Knowtes: Mystery Shopping, Second Edition (How to Have Fun and Make Money in a Career You Love Series) (Paperback)
I'm very happy with this mystery shopping book. This shorter mystery shopping book (76 pages) is easy to read and has sections on how to get started as a beginner to how to start your own mystery shopping company. This book doesn't waste your time. Unlike the other mystery shopping books on amazon.com, this one actually has mystery shopping companies listed in Canada and information for Canadians. The other ones are only for America.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystery Shopping Books At a Glance, September 8, 2002
By A Customer
I applaud anyone who has the guts to write a book on getting into a business or profession out of the ordinary. Having been a mystery shopper for 5 years, I read this mystery shopping book that has only just recently received some negative reviews from an anonymous source, and thought it was WELL-WRITTEN and INFORMATIVE. I just don't have the guts or the dedication to write a book myself and applaud this author for doing so. Believe it or not, there are lots of people out there who do not know that mystery shopping as a business exists! That's why I'm glad there's a book out there for people who want to find out more about it. I have to strongly disagree with the negative reviews written about this book. This book contained enough information needed to help anyone get into mystery shopping. This is a good basic book, and the leads actually are live. If you wanted a step-by-step operations guide, I would suggest you get the book by Judith Rappold, How to Start Your Mystery Shopping Company, which is [price]. But then again, it IS [price], but a consultant would charge in the thousands for the type of information the negative reviewers seem to be seeking. Perhaps these are the same people who want to get everything in life for free without working for it and are critical of anything that they have to really pay for?

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU are Responsible for Your Own Success - This Book Helps, September 5, 2002
By
Tammy (Delaware, USA) - See all my reviews
I read this book and was motivated to start my own mystery shopping business. With tips and insider information on what mystery shopping is from this book, I did start my business just recently. The author was even kind enough to take her time to help me free of charge in my particular situation. Her excitement about this business and her passion about conducting business ethically (there is a large section on this in the book) attests to the standards of the book. I believe a lot of time and effort was spent in trying to present mystery shopping in a simple, fun, and straightforward manner. This book is what the title represents - How to Have Fun and Make Money in Mystery Shopping. I'm very disappointed in some of the previous negative reviews I've seen here written by readers who haven't read the book or haven't seriously done their homework to take action and responsibility about their own mystery shopping business success. I agree that reading a book isn't going to make you wealthier, but it's taking what you read and applying it that will liken that chance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Information, August 20, 2002
This is a great book on mystery shopping for those looking to find out more about it besides how to get into it as a mystery shopper. Yes, you can find some things on mystery shopping from the internet, BUT not forms, sample letters, and business advice and tips on how to start a mystery shopping service of your own - which is also in this book. This book is also a "WORKBOOK", as stated on the cover, which means it will be in the form of a workbook - plastic-comb, that usually accompanies a class. This is the kind of book you're supposed to write in and use, not just read. Readers who think they can find everything on the internet shouldn't even buy books. It's amazing they're on Amazon.

Don't be fooled by the workbook-style of this book. How to Have Fun and Make Money in Mystery Shopping gives you solid strong advice for those serious enough to jump into mystery shopping. Backed by contributions from actual working mystery shopping companies and active mystery shoppers, Ms. Gow's book offers tips, advice, and directions gained from true-life successful experience, which makes the jump easier. One of the better mystery shopping guides published.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Got Me STARTED!, August 24, 2002
By

I don't know about you, but I wanted to get into mystery shopping for a long while ever since I heard my friend's neighbor mentioned he got paid for just filling out a survey about a burger meal he bought, AND they PAID for his MEAL! Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I love getting paid to just do what I do anyways. Eat. So, of course, I bought this book, after price comparision with other books. THESE COMPANIES mentioned in this workbook, NEED mystery shoppers everywhere. I got started with this book.
