Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Levinson, noted behavioral consultant and professor of psychology at Harvard, draws from his experiences to describe the psychological underpinnings of corporate life. He discusses such important aspects of career development as coping with change, learning from failure, and working effectively with others. He places much emphasis on understanding the interconnected forces of personal ambition and organizational structure. One shortcoming is Levinson's focus on large, hierarchical corporations, which overlooks the fact that many new careers are developed in smaller companies. Recommended, although this is not quite as far-reaching in scope as Rosabeth Moss Kanter's When Giants Learn To Dance (S. & S., 1989).
