YA?An outstanding, comprehensive purchase for career collections. Originally published in 1988, this revised edition is divided into nine sections. The first eight cover jobs in design, museums, art and auction galleries, education, art journalism, funding agencies, and art-related businesses, with a total of 83 distinct entries. Each division includes an overview of duties, alternate title(s), salary range, employment and advancement prospects, education, and prerequisites. The ninth section is made up of six appendixes that list educational institutions specifically for art therapy and arts administration; trade and vocational schools; scholarships, fellowships, grants and loans; internships; and organizations and associations. 4.0 out of 5 stars A great starting place for jobs in ART!, March 24, 1999
By A Customer
I just finished my undergrad degree in art and I am looking for something to do. This book describes a gazillion jobs I didn't even know existed. It tells you how to go about finding a certain job and how competative certain markets are. The apendicies are a fabulous resource. I was clueless in my job search and now I feel like I have several exciting directions to look in. I think this book is great for someone just starting out in art and invaluable for college career centers.

4.0 out of 5 stars good reference, December 29, 2001
By A Customer
This is a great reference book for deciding what art position you would like to have and what position you are currently eligible for. This book isn't just for artists, there are jobs for people interested to work in the art field but aren't artists (for example, people who have a business degree). This book helped me find what jobs I could get and would like with my BFA and ultimately helped my decide to go back to school for a graphics degree.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful wonderful reference, April 7, 2002
By A Customer
This book helped me define my career opportunities and goals as an art student, and provided helpful insight into the training and preparation for each job listed. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the arts or any students who are unsure about what they can do with a degree in art.
