From School Library Journal
Grade 7-10–It is hard to imagine a duller treatment of an interesting topic. The book is filled with what appear to be stock, black-and-white photos from the '80s and '90s. In the chapter on video-game designers, there is a picture of the designer of the original Game Boy System and a generic photo of a woman playing a game on her home computer. While the layout is not appealing, the content is. The writing style is professional and touches on topics such as the creative process, companies with casual work environments, and how to find job satisfaction, as well as standard information concerning career outlook and growth, projected earnings, etc. Cassedy does not cover as much material as the "Careers in Focus" series (Ferguson), but this book is more appropriate for junior high readers.

Review
"Relatively mature, fairly definitive descriptions and delineations of the various careers-within-careers, this is an excellent overview."
