Book Review #2 Top 100 Careers Without A Four Year Degree -Complete Guidebook To Good Jobs In Many Fields

by Laurence Shatkin PhD

This book is for job specialists, job seekers and anyone exploring other alternative training or career options. This book enables you to cut your job hunting time in half. First, it has you do an assessment of your skills and interests with the Job Match Grid. This Assessment helps you to determine several major areas

Artistic
Communications
Interpersonal
Management
Mathematical
Mechanical
Science

It lists major job fields with one or more of the above skill categories that are required for the job. Once you've done your assessment, you'll see your strong areas and weak areas. From there you have a better composite of which industries and jobs are right for you.

One of the things I enjoyed about this book is that it says that you may as well try to go for the ideal job for you if you're going to be putting all this time in for job hunting. I whole heartedly agree. Another point is that most people don't really know just how many skills they have. With the worksheets in this book, you go back and dig deep into your entire life experience, not just skills you may have used on a job, but also hobbies, interests, volunteering, and every day life.

It lists all kinds of jobs in all the major categories which includes earnings, projected future trends and work environment. You also get solid information on how to enter any given field /job.
