5.0 out of 5 stars Sara B...where's the follow up album already?, June 5, 2006
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
I first heard Sara B in the opening credits of Girl Play, her song "Fairytale". At the time, I wasn't aware that she was also responsible for the song at the end credits, "Gravity", and the song that played during the girls club scene, "Undertow". I just knew I had to find that soundtrack. Lucky for me, all the songs I wanted to play over and over in my car were all on the same CD, Careful Confessions, which I found on Amazon after a couple of hours of web-hunting. Unluckily, Amazon did not have any available, but a couple more hours of web searching, and soon there I was, at sarabmusic.com, adding Careful Confessions to my album collection. And worth every penny, and then some, of hte $10 bucks it cost me. The three previously named tracks are a few of my faves off the CD, but it was "One Sweet Love", "City", and "My Love" that really played on my heartstrings. Her soulful sound puts her in league with Joss Stone and Norah Jones, and her reflective lyrics show off her profound uniqueness not unlike the very distictive Sarah McLachlan. Needless to say, I love this album. Fans of Norah, Sarah, Joss, Alana Davis, Fiona Apple, and the like are sure to love this album just as much as I do. And please, Sara B, if you ever read this, please...BRING ON THE NEXT ALBUM!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Surprise!, December 26, 2006
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
I first heard "Gravity" while watching "Loving Anabelle". Intrigued by her piercing lyrcis and undeniable sound, I immediately started my internet search for this Sara Bareilles. I was a bit skeptical, thinking "Gravity" would be my one track wonder. WRONG ANSWER! It has been quite some time since I heard a CD that moves me in this way. She takes me on a genre-coster ride, and it feels so good! I can't get enough! Needless to say, I bought it! Surely, I will need a fix while I drive. The good news is, you can get some of what I got. The same hit. The same high! Get it! You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Find, March 2, 2006
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
I recently found this artist after watching the movie Girl Play. I am sorry it took so long for me to hear her sing but boy am I glad that I found her. You can order her CD directly from her own site at sarabmusic.com. She has signed with a record company and will be releasing a new album soon. Can't wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's about time!!!, December 28, 2005
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
I have been listening to Sara for almost a year now. I discovered her late one night while surfing the web...my life changed that night. I know it sounds overly dramatic but it's true. I have been routinely checking amazon to see if she was on it yet. Now that she is I'm happy but also kinda sad. My secret songstress is out. I have to share now. That's ok though she deserves amazing success. I highly recommend this album. She actually signed a copy of her CD for my hubby for me for a Christmas present. You will fall in love with her music. Every song is wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Sara B, July 29, 2011
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
Some of your favorites from Little Voice and a few new ones with a sort of beautifully unique A capella feel. Though the familiar sound of the piano is there, this album showcases Sara's natural talent without a whole lot of effects. It's pure Sara B. Go get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep it simple, June 29, 2011

I'm cautious about buying CDs with overlapping songs with newer albums by the same artist, but Careful Confessions offers another perspective on some of the same songs, a much simpler sound that is appealing in a different way from the Little Voice production. There are a few novel pieces as well that are worth adding to a collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Careful Confessions from Sara..., November 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
Well, let me say first that I am a HUGE fan of Sara's. I first met her, like many, from 'love song'. But she is now my favorite artist. I loved both little voice and kaleidoscope heart, and decided to buy this so that I could hear some 'stripped down' and early versions of some of her songs and some new songs. I bought this, and absolutely love it. I actually haven't listened to the whole thing in total yet, but so far this album is amazing. One of my favorite songs is 'undertow'. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Sara. Though the price is a little high, it is totally worth it. Love this album! Keep up the great work Sara! Keep sharing your careful confessions with the world!

I'm a big fan of Little Voice and the new album Kaleidoscope Heart so I had to pick up her fist album. This is a fantastic album. I really enjoy listening to the songs that didn't make the cut for little voices and the way the melody and tones in those songs heavily influences other songs. For instance Inside Out has moments that are very familiar to One Sweet Love.

For a fan of her work it's great to hear early versions of songs like Gravity, Fairytale, City and Love on the Rocks to really see how the song developed and evolved from early on in her career.

There are repeats between this album and Little Voice but no two songs are alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, December 29, 2005
This review is from: Careful Confessions (Audio CD)
I happened across SB through pure luck - she was touring with Marc Broussard and Will Hoge nearly a year ago, and I went to her website when I saw she was going to be opening for the concert I bought tickets for. I listened to some of her songs, and fell in love. Ordered the cd off her website, then bought another one at the concert so she could sign it. She is absolutely amazing, her voice is awe-inspiring, and lyrics and melodies almost equally so. Best investment you could make - buy it!
