About the Author

I'm a life-long fan of paranormal romance and The Man of my Dreams is the first novel in a series. The sequel (Be Careful What You Wish For) is nearly complete and nearing the editing stage. My inspiration for this series lies close to my heart, for I have my own dark haired man of my dreams, Barry. I am also a big fan of the short lived TV show Moonlight and its lead, Alex O'loughlin. Watching this show gave me the push I needed to start writing again. I am a stay at home mum of 4 children and write whenever I get the chance. Writing is and always has been my passion. My books are for you - my fans, who share my love of romance and everything paranormal. I hope you will continue on this journey with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars So glad I read this! March 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Ok, I could have sworn I already wrote this up.

Be Careful What You Wish For is the second book in a series. To be honest, I was not so happy with the ending of the first book. It felt like it just ended with the possibility of a happily ever after, but with too much left open. That was before I discovered it was a series! Now I feel better hehehe. This was a fun quick read with a dark side. I am going to try to not be too spoilery, but there may be some spoilers from book one. So be forewarned ;).

I'll tell you what I liked about it:

* It had romance, but the plot was not all about the romance. I like it when there's is more to focus on than just the love story.
* Some of it was super dark. I like that in a book with vamps. This one showed the darker side of humans as well as vamps and it added a bit of depth to the horror components. It is not quite as dark as the first book, in my opinion, but that might be because one of the scenes in the first book out and out scared me. I loved it.
* You start to see more of Alexi's past and see the motivations behind so many of the things he had done in the last book and has done in this book.
* Silly things make me happy and there was a scene with a random kangaroo. The book takes place in Australia, so it makes perfect sense, but it put a smile on my face because it is so not what wildlife is like in Michigan.
* Time has passed since the first book. I like it when authors do not try to jam pack everything in a few days. It makes the story seem more real while you are reading it, even if the plot has paranormal creatures that I do not think exist ;).
* The lore ties history with fiction making it feel more authentic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another one well worth the read! January 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Ok, I really enjoyed the first book in this series ( The man of my dreams), however, this one has me LOVING it! So much is explained in this one that it all just snaps into place and lets you become excited about finishing the book! It's not a extremely long book but it's enough to keep you wanting more! I love that's it's a new twist in the Vampire type novels, only able to appear as they're normal handsome self in they're dreams unless they manage to get a mortal to love them, until then they remain a beastly appearance. In this installment of The Man of My Dreams Alexi and Cassandra come face to face with his rival, maker and family! Plus A.J brings in a whole new story just waiting to emerge! I about dropped my jaw at how this book ended and can't wait to get my hands on number 3 to keep the story going!

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Careful What You Wish For April 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Review from box set...
First off, I would like to say that I am not usually a big fan of books that have rape and molestation in them. I will say that this book does not dwell on the subject and the scenes are brief. On to a better note, I love the concept of a hero vampire. Alexi and his story is heart breaking and emotional. He is a hero in every sense of the word, even though he does not see himself as such. I love how he will only kill those that deserve it. The love that Alexi and Cassie have for each other is amazing. Cassie accepts Alexi for who he is in its entirety, along with a baby on the way.

Cassie and Alexi have managed to bring a little normalcy to their sons life. Alexi is pretending to be a human with a sun allergy making it possible for him to permanently work the night shift at the local hospital, while Cassie is Mum to AJ. The rules have been broken since Cassie knows Alexi is a vampire but he has failed to kill or change her, this makes certain people not very happy and puts all of them in danger.

I had been a little reluctant to read and review this book because I had received some negative feed back over my review of the first in the series `Man of my Dreams' and worried that if this title had the same editing issues I was going to be in for more stick! Luckily GQ had realised her work could be significantly improved with the help of an editor and has decided to go down that route, so hopefully my comments this time around will be considered less harsh!

This book started at the beginning and gave us all the background information we needed to understand where the vampires came from and why they could only appear in dreams. I was glad of this explanation because I had found it a little difficult to get my head around in the last book and can't help but wonder if it would have been better to include this as a prologue in `Man of my dreams' instead (or as well) just to help the reader.

I have to say when I compare the writing between both books in the series they are completely different. In B2 the spelling and punctuation mistakes are few and far between and the whole structure of the sentences makes the writing flow much better. As far a plot is concerned there are similarities to other Vampire stories I have read so I don't find it all that unique.

More About the Author

A survivor of sexual abuse, I have recently written the true account of my childhood, titled: Life After Hell: Surviving Sexual Abuse. I have tried to convey what happened to me as well as my journey to finally getting justice.

A lot of my own experiences have gone into my fictional works, especially my first book The Man of My Dreams. I created a vigilante vampire that rescues women and children from rapists and child molesters......

I've loved Vampires and the paranormal ever since I can remember and always envisaged myself writing a book or two on the subject! I have written 5 books in The Dream Series so far: The Man of my Dreams, Be Careful What You Wish For, The Chosen One, Succubus: An Erotic Companion and A Match Made in Hell. All Paranormal Romance novels with Vampires(of course) as well as a bit of blood and gore thrown in and the 4th one is slightly on the erotic side! These characters are very close to my heart and I hope you will come to love them as much as I have.

I've also written my first Contemporary Romance trilogy which will be released in July 2014. The "Someone to Love Me" series will consist of 3 novellas: Undeserving, Unforgiving and Understanding. I hope you enjoy them.

I recently published a short story (Why Won't Someone Help Me?) about my health issues and the trouble with getting diagnosed or treated for invisible illnesses.
