5.0 out of 5 stars Careful what you wish for
This is by far RLG's best release to date!! He has matured throughout the past 10 yrs and found his place in country music. The smooth vocals on "careful what you wish for" grab ahold of your heart, as the message in "victoria's secret" gets ya! But his always rockin, fun, dancin tunes leave a smile on your face. I would highly recommend this CD to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good live
I recently went to Longview Tx. to see Foghat & had the chance to see Ricky Lynn Gregg live, he was terrible. I had never heard of him & the newspaper advertised him & Head East. Well there was no Head East & it's hard to believe he actually played in their band. All he did was talk & talk about the old days, his guitar playin & singing sucked big time. He finally left...

5.0 out of 5 stars Ricky Lynn Gregg Stronger Than Ever !, November 7, 2002

"Careful What You wish For" is Ricky Lynn Gregg's first full-length CD released in 7 years...and by far, his BEST! Gregg is still touring full-throttle and acting in National stage productions with the likes of Wilford Brimley and Gerald McRamey in Red Stegall's historical play "Soul of the West." Musically, this CD beats all Country contenders hands down. Gregg's vocal ability has only gotten better with time. A sure to be favorite on this CD is a Gregg-penned tune "Don't Call Home." Check out this excellent music selection....you'll be glad you did!

What a beautiful CD. I especially like the first song, I Wanna Be Loved By You. I can't get this song out of my head. This is true Country music like you want to listen to all day long, smooth and soothing. The other songs are equally good and easy to listen to. Looking forward to hearing more from this artist.

This is the best work yet by Ricky. The range in his vocal ability truly shines through on this CD. Each song has a message, that is delivered in a spirited and soulful manner. If you like traditional country, southern rock or just pure GREAT MUSIC you have to get this CD. I have enjoyed mine and listen to it everyday and never get tired of hearing it. I hope you like it too.

who ever thinks this is a bad cd, would have to me deaf, this is the best work Ricky has done, however, the other music he has played have all been wonderful. I have followed Ricky Lynn Gregg for many years, all the way back to the late 70's and early 80's, and there is not a bad song done by him yet.

He finally left the stage after about 1 1/2 hrs of crap. I listened to some of the songs on this album & its easy to see why he hasnt had a new album lately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ricky Lynn Gregg scores again, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Careful What You Wish for (Audio CD)
I have every album Ricky Lynn Gregg's recorded and "Careful What You Wish For" is the tops! "(If I Had)A Cheating Heart" was my favorite song until I heard "Don't Call Home." That is just a great crying in your beer song that should rank up there with George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today." There is not a bad song on this album. I recommedn it highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Improved Greatness, August 22, 2003
This review is from: Careful What You Wish for (Audio CD)
Ricky has always been a great performer. His live shows have great energy and the audience is always enthusiastic.
This album, his third, shows how much he has grown over years on the road and has helped fine tune several of his own songs into classics.
Victoria's Secret with added dobro and fiddle and at a slower pace makes a beautiful country song. Want to be Loved by You was a #1 hit in Europe for 6 weeks, and you can hear why.
Several of the other songs have that rock-a-billy feel, that Ricky is famous for.
His sweet tenor voice has enriched with age, and has deeper style than ever before. He is also an amazing guitarist, and should promote that even more than he does.
Would be nice to have a great single for release in the States, with his style and talent it would really go over well.
Overall, great job Ricky, and any lover of that sweet southern fried sound will enjoy this album, immensely.

This is the greatest of Ricky's CD's yet to come. He's so extremely talented, and there's such a variation on this one CD, that ANYONE will find "just their favorite song(s)"! Every single song is excellent! It's truly amazing how one man can be so truly gifted. Ricky puts so much heart and soul into his music that you can just feel it. I guarantee, you'll play this CD all day, everyday!
