5.0 out of 5 stars Carex raised toilet seat.
Inexpensive, durable, low maintenance, and practical. My mom had hip replacement surgery in June of 2006 and this is the seat she used at home following her surgery, and also the seat I ordered from Amazon for her to use when she and my dad stayed with my family and I during October of 2006. Fits all standard toilets.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Good!!!
I had to throw this toilet seat away. It doesn't have a depression in the front and I could not clean myself. I got the Etac Hi-Loo with brackets as a replacement. the Etac works great. It has depressions in both the front and back.

Also the Carex was too high for me. The Etac is just the right height. I'm 5' 5" tall.

And then the Carex is...

Also the Carex was too high for me. The Etac is just the right height. I'm 5' 5" tall.

And then the Carex is unstable. It moves around. On the other hand the Etac stays in place.

I suggest you buy the Etac Hi-Loo with brackets instead of the Carex.

I recommend this to all who need a raised seat.
Brought it with me to Fla/ and it alleviated alot of
anxiety re: use of low seats.

Good deal too....

I bought this for my mother, who had hip surgery recently. I did a bit research before deciding on this one. The design is simple and effective. It is easy to clean and portable. My mother loves it. Now my mother's neighbor is asking me to order one for her.

I got this after having ankle and leg surgery. It was very helpful. You raise your lid, then sit this down. It requires no installation and has some "non-skid" things on the bottom that really keep it from moving around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Raised Toilet Seat, July 17, 2008

I purchased this product as I had a complete right hip replacement.

It is easy to use and does the trick

It is little high for me, I am only 5 feet tall, but I would highly recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh., April 13, 2009

I had surgery so I purchased this seat to use temporarily. This seat was ok but it made it very difficult to clean myself. There is no notch or groove in the front or back to allow for reach. Also without getting too graphic the small opening made visits to the loo a whole lot messier. Cleansing myself was an ordeal that required extra time and technique. The design of this seat could use some work as it may create problems for larger sized people.

First is the economical price---well worth every penny to have a safe secure seat when you need those extra few inches to be able to get off and on the toilet. After injuring my thigh while visiting my daughter this spring, I needed I really needed that extra height to be able to get to a standing position and this was the answer. Also it was delivered within days, fits commode tightly----very secure.

3.0 out of 5 stars Secured only by stickie pads, January 28, 2010

It's secured only by three rubber pads. I don't find it sturdy enough to trust until someone gets hurt, so I'll be returning it.

But for the money, it's 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great raised toilet seat for the price!, April 4, 2009
This review is from: Carex Raised Toilet Seat (Health and Beauty)
I just had bunion surgery and am on crutches, and this toilet seat is a lifesaver. The toilet is too low to try and get off of with one foot, but this raised seat is an essential I didn't think of getting before my surgery. For around $20, it's a steal compared to some of the other ones I saw at Walgreens and CVS. Very sturdy and easy to clean and the 5.5" lift is more than most raised toilet seats I could find. Would recommend for anyone with knee or hip problems or for someone on crutches to make life easier. :)
