Product Description

The Carex knee pillow is ergonomically designed to provide ideal spinal alignment to help reduce lower back, leg, hip, ankle, or joint pain. Sleeping or sitting can be difficult for those with back, leg, hip or joint pain. A knee pillow when placed between the legs keeps your legs, hips and spine parallel and aligned. This results in improved circulation and decreased pressure and strain on those areas. The high quality memory foam in the Carex knee pillow reacts fast to provide instant relief and comfort, and provides slow memory foam recovery for longer support. The removable soft polyester and rayon cover zips off easily for machine washing. Hypo-allergenic.

I had back surgery and my doctor recommended that I sleep with a pillow between my knees to keep spine in alignment. I purchased 3 different knee pillows (the Carex Knee Pillow, Contour Memory Foam Knee Pillow, Homedics Therapy Leg Spacer), and this is the best of the 3. I have washed the cover, and the pillow could be squished to get it in and out. It has a very small zipper that does not bother me at all. This product does the trick for me.

Good quality (although I guess you have to throw it away when the thin cover wears out or tears/rips. Fabric is soft and removeable but I would not want to try to get it back on... It is a bit stiff/hard and the edges are too sharp and by the morning your knees are practically touching. Should curve them a bit more. Also, it pills quite a bit (from flannel sheets). But beats a plain pillow. Next time though, I will think about getting a small memory foam pillow.

UPDATE: After 6 months I don't have to worry about it being too stiff. It now has barely any spring in the middle and squashes almost flat. For what I paid I would have expected it to last a lot longer.

Take these reviews with a grain of salt- it's kind of like me telling you how great I like a particular mattress- what I like might not be what you like. Having said that, it is good to read the reviews to gather the positives and negatives about this knee pillow...

-it's got a washable cover. Important because these things do need a good washin' once in awhile. :)

-it may or may not be thick enough for you, here's where you'll just have to try it :(

-it's made of memory foam, so this pillow is going to give a bit. It will be too little, too much, or just the right amount depending on who you are and what feels comfortable :) :(

-the memory foam is a big plus if you're worried about your knee pillow getting beat down into a pulp over time. I suspect this pillow will keep its shape for years.

So there you have it. My recommendation is to try it and see how you like it. Its not too expensive of a gamble, could turn out to be the best pillow that ever helped your back pain, and you can always return it. Back pain sufferers might also want to check out Treat Your Own Spinal Stenosis.

I have tried many knee pillows, but in my experience, they usually go flat over a short period of time and just don't hold their shape. This one, however, is the best I've tried so far! I have a herniated disc in my lower back and it helps immensely to keep the spine and hip bone structure in a better aligned position while sleeping. I don't wake up with my back hurting anymore! This pillow may seem thicker than most at first, but you get used to it quickly and it feels so wonderful! Also, the cover is very soft and silky and feels good against your skin. For spine and hip comfort, you just can't go wrong with this pillow!!! I love it!

The Carex knee pillow is wonderful. I'd been using the original Contour Leg Pillows for years. Every time I bought a new one, however, I found that they were getting softer or less dense. The last one I had just mushed down completely as soon as you put any pressure on it. I've been using the Carew for a month or two now, and am very impressed with its density and firmness. It holds its shape very well all night long. If you're looking for firm support in a leg/knee pillow, this is definitely a good choice.

This is the best Knee pillow I have found. I do kneed to say that the product you get is not the one pictured. The picture shows a pretty thick section of foam for between the knees but the product that is shipped is more narrow. The whole reason I purchased this product was because it looked thicker than others. Having said that it is made of a firmer foam so it ends up being the thickest one I have seen on the market.

I personally can't believe that someone doesn't make a pillow that is the right thickness.

I've used several different brands and have been frustrated with the lack of support. Ironically it was a review on this one that made me try it. It is firm and provides the BEST support of any I have tried. I use it every night and have noticed a difference already. Not sure over the long haul how it will hold up, but it is already better than any other, including the one I purchased from my chiropractor.

Recently a friend recommended that I buy a knee pillow, and after reading reviews on Amazon, I decided to purchase the Carex. At the time I bought it, I was suffering from a twisted back. Lying in pretty much any position was uncomfortable, but lying on either side was extremely difficult. Until the Carex pillow arrived, I used a doubled over bed pillow. That temporary aid was okay, but it was bulky, especially for the degree of support it gave.

The Carex pillow initially seemed a little too thick. With the Carex between my knees, my hips felt somehow slightly sprung, if that makes any sense. Then, after a minute or so, everything settled into place, and I felt extremely comfortable. I like the thing, and I am not sure how I slept without it previously. Now that my back and hips are slowly working their way into something like functional condition, I still use the Carex. It seems to compress effectively without taking up lots of space.

Obviously I don't know what memory foam is. I do know a good product.
