The fact that Crawford's beautiful photographic collection happens to be juxtaposed with a discerning and detailed conceptualization of a lifestyle which most of the world hasn't yet imagined makes the "Carfree Design Manual" to a truly revolutionary oeuvre. Crawford has created a framework that if adopted by cities in part or in its entirety would result in an arrangement of structures and artifacts that would not only be considerably more sustainable but beautiful.
