Except that in temps below 40 F, the rubber gets really cold and within 15 minutes, your hand feels dang-near frostbit!

I was expecting a lot from Carhartt, (their other products are awesome) as these are advertised as Winter Thermal gloves. I do not doubt they are made from thermal materials, but the C-Grip part of the glove is where it goes wrong.

The C-Grip is a rubber/plastic molded palm, fingers and knuckle protection, which is great. Except that in temps below 40 F, the rubber gets really cold and within 15 minutes, your hand feels dang-near frostbit! there is no additional material placed inside the glove where the rubber sections are, so the cold goes right through them.

I was really disappointed and ended up buying a pair of cheapie $8 which keep my hands warmer with synthetic leather palm & finger grips.

The "grip" coating on these gloves is fantastic, though they don't have much cut resistance. I gave this a two star where the other versions I gave 4 star, because the sizing is so tight due to the thicker knit, you should order a size over what you normally order. My trouble was, they don't make a triple extra large, so I'm just stuck.

As to the warmth, the coating gets cold, and it sucks the heat right away from your fingers quickly. So if you only deal with mild cold temps, you'll be fine, but if like me, you're searching for that "warmth AND dexterity" winter glove, this isn't it.

All of the other versions of the C Grip glove I have tried get a four star rating.

Like many of you, I've got tons of Carhartt gear. Hats, pants, long underwear, neck liners, bibs, you name it. I think that we can all agree that Carhartt is a trusted brand for those of us who work outside. (Understatement, right?)

    But these gloves . . . .

The good: Fit great per size and the gripping surfaces are rock solid.

The bad: These gloves are not for winter use. Late Fall, sure. Early Spring? Right on. But not winter. "Winter Thermal Glove?" No.

The ugly: These gloves will not keep your hands warm.

    FINAL WORD: Avoid.

The fabric between the thumb and index finger tore with the first 30 minutes of use. Would not buy again

I work as an outdoor porter, in New York. I purchased these gloves because they look sturdy and semi warm. They seemed perfect for the job I do in the weather I do it in. I was half right. They have fantastic grip, and kept my hands warm (and half dry) during the snow while I was spreading salt for hours a day.

Unfortunately, they only lasted 2 weeks before they both had giant holes in between the thumb and pointer finger.

Quality wise, these are a $4.99 item. Price wise, I would have expected them to last longer for what they cost.

The grip and fit of these gloves are great and in forty plus degree weather these gloves work well. These gloves provide more dexterity than your average work glove.

However, if it gets too cold the rubber becomes hard to move and its feels colder on your hands in the gloves than it does when you take them off.

Extra large seemed to run small. Not a very comfortable glove and I wasn't that impressed. Was hoping these would fit and feel nice. Not that good
