Lighter, more durable and more respectable than jeans.,

This is my second pair of these. They are ideal work pants.
The cell phone pocked is my favorite feature. The color doesn't fade and they are very durable-tougher than jeans. The pockets of my jeans wear out where I clip my knife and my badge retractor. These pants do not. They don't need to be ironed out of the dryer and fold up compactly. They're comfortable in temperatures from about 40 to 85 degrees. My only complaint is that they don't make these in longer sizes, but I'll put up with some high-water action for the rest of the benefits.

I have always been a fan of Carhartt pants, and have owned many of the styles. Their B01 double front dungarees are hard to beat for durability (and in my opinion, style), but are on the heavy side and look out of place except for the most casual settings. The original Hamilton pant successfully bridged the gap between workwear and casual wear, serving the wearer faithfully as a functional, durable work pant with the understated styling of a pair of chinos. The Canvas Khaki is essentially the same as the Hamilton pant with a slightly different cut. I find them to run just a tad bigger than the Hamilton pant, but only just. The canvas material breaths slightly better than the brushed twill of the Hamilton pant, but wrinkles very easily. With the khaki and mushroom colors, fading is not an issue. After multiple washings in hot water, the color remains largely the same as when new. The green color does fade more quickly and takes on a more fatigue look than its lighter counterparts. The pocket set up is another highlight of the pant. With deep front slash pockets and jean-like patch rear pockets, the pant carries a moderate pocket load well, without bulging or tearing. The pockets are not reinforced with rivets as on other Carhartt work pants. There is a cell phone pocket on the right leg that provides ample storage for even large smartphones without looking like a pair of painters jeans. Overall, the pant is a success that sees daily use as both chinos and serious work pants.

I absolutely love these pants! The design, material, color, fit, and feel are all completely 100% perfect! I hope they never stop making them, because I WILL wear these forever if they don't. If I ever find out they're discontinued, I will stock up on 10 or 20 pairs in my favorite colors (grey and green). LOL!!! I'm not kidding! :D

For once, khaki pants that fit well and are durable to boot. My sole, nitpicky complaint is that I could do without the cell phone pocket; they come a little too close to cargo pants with that feature. However, I wear the heck out of my casual pants and these hold up. Can be dressed up to a reasonable but not extravagant degree - button down shirts and ties work with these pants, but just barely. I'm a teacher and these work fine with everyday shirt/tie combos, but they're perfect for polos.

If you know exactly what you are looking for, order carhartt gear on the internet is the way to go. Locally this stuff goes on a run every holiday season (hats, bibs, pants, etc) and it takes forever to get back in stock. And the prices usually aren't great either.Love the pants though. They fit well, are durable, and nice enough to wear on the job or around town.

Blue jeans are not allowed where I work, but khaki pants are. Enter Carhartt B299 Canvas Khaki pants. These pants are tough, like blue jeans and dressy enough to pass the boss's scrutiny.
I now own 7 pairs of these pants with 4 of them being over 2 years old and still going strong. Sure, they have faded a bit but not enough to be put out to pasture. I love the cell phone pocket on the side. I feel funny when I have to strap on my old cell phone holster now. Good job Carhartt!

Favorite feature on these pants is the cell phone pocket on the thigh, just right for iPhone. Handy storage without all the extra floppy pockets of cargo pants. Good fit too, cargo pants look doesn't work for me. I need something presentable and yet durable for days spent in the office but frequent trips into the shop. Canvas weave will grab a stain quickly but so far has washed out OK.

These pants are very comfortable and highly versatile. For me they function optimally as light work pants in addition to semi-formal pants to wear on campus. They have a very professional look and yet they're fairly durable and in my opinion, far more comfortable than jeans. If you need pants for heavy work the best choice is still 12oz. Dungaree Carhartt's. However, for most work settings and semi-formal environments these are great.

Not quite nice enough for 'dressy casual,' like Dockers, but still a good work pant for the money. And it's getting harder and harder to find a selection of any decent brand(s) in my size, 33X34. I'd buy them again.

I ordered these pants because I wanted a durable pair of brown(ish) pants for work in a retail warehouse environment.
I wanted something that would have a sort of business casual look but be able to stand up to daily wear and tear. I really like the mushroom color. Not too dark and not too light. The first thing I noticed when trying them on is that they are rather high waisted on me. I like this because it reminds me to actually wear them on my waist instead of below my gut. They also run just a little long. I am about 6'3" and I had to roll over the bottom of the leg. But this worked okay for me and still looks just fine. The right leg pocket is perfect for the mobile phones we use at my workplace and that has been a very convenient feature. I hope these hold up well over the next month or two. If so, I will be ordering several more. Update: One month later. Ended up poking a hole in the leg of the pants. Suppose it could have happened to any pants, but I sort of hoped these pants would be bulletproof. Especially because they are quite pricey for a frugal guy like me. Still like the pants and will probably still order more. |
