Very warm in extremely cold temps. Appear to be reasonably rugged as I've worn them cutting trees, piling brush, and dragging and stacking wood with no noticeable wear, rips, or open seams. Limited dexterity however. Would not be good for detail carpentry or construction work. Also difficult to put on and take off as the inner liner is loose within the glove, clings to my rough hands and comes loose when removing the gloves. Fingers do not slide into the inner liner easily.

Up-date: all of the above is still accurate. However, today we worked in 28-30 degree cold wet snow and freezing rain removing siding and installing foam board and house wrap. The outer layer of the gloves got wringing wet soaked but the inner layer remained dry and warm. Added one more star!

Up-date #2: DO NOT get the inner liner wet by submersing the whole glove or by inserting wet hands. Because the inner layer is covered by the waterproof outer layer, it's impossible to dry. Also, if your hands are wet or rough getting these gloves on and off can be quite difficult. Also, the inner liner fingers are slightly shorter than the outer layer fingers. This leaves a noticable amount of extra material at the ends of the fingers further detracting from the dexterity. Removed one star because of these additional negative conditions.

I use these when clearing snow with the snow blower. Previously I had to wear two pairs of gloves to keep my finger tips from getting extremely cold. These do the job and still allow me the touch to handle all of the controls on the machine.

Love the gloves even though the weather delays across the country made delivery slow. Would recommend these gloves to anyone who works out in the cold. very durable.

Got these 2 days ago and I'm glad they came! We just had 3"-4" of snow and an air temp of -9 (wind chill -29). These gloves kept my hands warm while scooping snow. But, while using the snowblower my hands got very cold. Mainly because I wasn't doing much but guiding the snowblower. I know if the temperature wasn't so extremely cold they would work fine blowing snow. Doing something with your hands they worked great, even in very cold temps.

The exterior looks to be durable.

The only negative I have is that the cuff of the gloves are too short. There is very little overlap of coat cuff and glove, so in windy cold weather, I got some drafts. Especially reaching. But it's minor and not worth deducting a star.

Overall very pleased with the gloves.

Good enough for shoveling snow.
PROS: warm and really waterproof.
CONS: they feel like plether, materials very noticeably artificial and somewhat stiff.
The lining feels furry. It will be unpleasant when it gets damp from perspiration and it will because the fabric doesn't breathe.
The very broad velcro strap that closes around the wrist will rub you every time you put it on or off. Doesn't seem like much but it hurts and it didn't have to be designed that way.

These gloves are great! The warm liner and durable waterproof exterior are the definition of what all gloves should be.

I hate saying this, but these gloves made it through the awful winter from last year better than I did.

I love the Carhartt brand and have been buying it for years, so when it came time to buying a new pair of winter gloves, it was a no-brainer that I was getting a pair of Carhartt's. Really disappointed. I've had these gloves for 3 months and they've already started falling apart. They ARE NOT waterproof and if they do get wet, they are impossible to dry out - takes forever. The velcro wrist strap is useless... did I put in that these gloves do not keep your hands warm at all? So, if you live in New England, you know how the winters are here, don't waist your money.

Warm. Kept my hands warm and dry at 32° in a wet snow. I do believe the inside would get wet if the wrist material was to get too wet. I will be glad when a material is used that does not get stuck to dry skin. The inner lining is warm but snags on rough skin and wants to pull out when taking gloves off.
I purchased medium with medium sized hands and the fit was good. easy to put on and take off.
I will only use for operating garden tractor plowing snow. I hope they will last several seasons.
