Heavy Duty But With Limitations
on November 23, 2014
Very warm in extremely cold temps. Appear to be reasonably rugged as I've worn them cutting trees, piling brush, and dragging and stacking wood with no noticeable wear, rips, or open seams. Limited dexterity however. Would not be good for detail carpentry or construction work. Also difficult to put on and take off as the inner liner is loose within the glove, clings to my rough hands and comes loose when removing the gloves. Fingers do not slide into the inner liner easily.
Up-date: all of the above is still accurate. However, today we worked in 28-30 degree cold wet snow and freezing rain removing siding and installing foam board and house wrap. The outer layer of the gloves got wringing wet soaked but the inner layer remained dry and warm. Added one more star!
Up-date #2: DO NOT get the inner liner wet by submersing the whole glove or by inserting wet hands. Because the inner layer is covered by the waterproof outer layer, it's impossible to dry. Also, if your hands are wet or rough getting these gloves on and off can be quite difficult. Also, the inner liner fingers are slightly shorter than the outer layer fingers. This leaves a noticable amount of extra material at the ends of the fingers further detracting from the dexterity. Removed one star because of these additional negative conditions.
