Bought a pair for work, which is currently a mixed use metal shop. I'm both a welder and a designer, and had until this point been working in whatever old, beat up pair of cargo pants happened to be around. As I spend part of my time welding, grinding, fitting, etc. and part of it talking to designers, architects and other clients, I had started to worry about showing up to their offices looking either like a vagrant, or like I never did any real work if I changed into dressier slacks. These, I think, bridge that gap nicely.
I like the double knee, though I've yet to try any inserts for kneeling. There's enough fabric/padding that, at least on fairly flat concrete, it's not uncomfortable for me to kneel for five or ten minutes. (30 year old knees in decent shape, your mileage may vary) I like the slightly more broken in feel of these. The non-washed version felt a little like I might find the skin worn off my thighs at the end of the day. As far as fit goes, I found the waist true to size. I ordered them a little long (I'm usually around a 31" inseam) because the description made it sound like they might ride a bit high, but I ended up getting them hemmed to 30 1/2", and I'd probably just order a 30" inseam next time. I can't speak to long term durability yet, as I've only been wearing them for a month. Here's hoping. I do wish I could get other colours from the same supplier, but, due to some kind of stocking issue, the brown pair come from one company, with reasonable shipping, while if I want a pair in grey to break up the monotony, the shipping, to Canada, will cost as much as the pants. I like them, but they're not $100 pants.

I recently purchase these and just in time for winter too. The overall is very nice and comfortable I always wanted these just a waist down overall so I can be more mobile at work and at the same time keep me warm, especially in the cold wheather doing outside work. These overall does do what they were made to do, keeping me warm. Im very satified in my purchase.

They fit VERY snug around the waist. I orderd my regular size, but wish I had ordered a size bigger. Also the length is very short. I'd order a longer length as well.

Can't go wrong with Carhartt! These are great quality work pants. Run a tad small (needed one waist size larger).

I've been riding in these for six months now, and I love everything about them. I've since bought two more pairs.

I also own a pair of dickies double knee, and those are the only to which I can compare: and I feel the need with reviewing these as they are much alike with a few differences- though admittedly I haven't washed these yet and am comparing them as they are now fresh off the truck, I can say these are a bit stiffer, they are probably made a bit better, for me, meaning they are going to last longer, probably longer than I'll live. My Dickies are however, softer, more flexible, and more of a suede feel than these (though admittedly, maybe after a few washes things will be different)- one thing worth noting which I'll probably just learn to deal with as every piece of clothing they have their own issues, you can feel the chilly rivets through these- like, up against your skin. I do like the slightly more tapered cut of the Dickies double knee I have more than these, as they'd more likely be able to be used as a dressier pair than these Carhartts.. the waist of these are a wee bit more snug in comparison. Once again, perhaps many of these issues will resolve once ashed ten or twenty times, but upon first try, this is my initial impression. If things change I'll return and edit my opinion here in this review. Hope it has been of some use to you- by all means a pair to grab, but worthy of comparing to Dickies double knee first.
