I have the arctic quilt coat, keeps me very warm and comfortable for New England winters
I have the chore coat with the blanket lining, use it for fall, early winter, again keeps me warm, very roomy, can layer
I wear these coats according to weather, like all carhartt products I know they will last me a good while. I tell everyone who is looking for a good winter coat, to look at Carhartt, the coats are not very expensive, well made, all reviews I've seen have been positive. Columbia, North Face, Patagonia you pay an arm and a leg! I feel Carhartt charges a fair price.

this coat is very nice, I like the sherpa lining, I feel it's a jacket that I can wear in the go between if I don't want the heavier Arctic coat, and want something just a tad warmer than the chore coat. I've seen on many websites and Amazon can get this in a variety of colors. I felt this coat seemed a bit longer than the Carhartt J22 sandstone traditional jacket, which is good, but felt for a medium it seemed short on me and the Large felt a little too bulky. I came across this one the J164 in medium, felt like the right length where I can raise my arms fully and not feel any belly sticking out or feel like it pulls my t shirt up. That is why I went with this type. and it is roomy enough to layer with a hoodie or heavy sweat shirt, where you do not feel restrained. Only draw back, with some of the other type of coats, they have chest pockets, I miss that feature on this one but do have deep side pockets and two interior pockets.

Like I've said carhartt-- can wear these coats for outdoor chores, or around town. If you're like me you probably own two carhartt coats maybe 3.... if you want to stay warm, dry, I've said it before on my other 2 reviews, Buy Carhartt!

My husband needed a work coat, one that was warm and had inside pockets for his cell and other things he needs for his work, this was the perfect choice. He is very satisfied with the fit, it does run a little large but that will afford him the ability to wear extra heavy sweaters when he will be outside for a length of time. He is very happy with the purchase, and will probably buy another if needed.

I was looking for a jacket that is warm without being too bulky. This fits the bill just fine. It is very warm, at least in the Atlanta area. It has great looks and can be worn as a casual jacket with jeans or other casual type pants. The material is a thick canvass like material and I'm sure it will wear well with use. The only thing that I feel I should comment on is that the color on the Amazon site seems to be slightly more tan, but the color in person is more of a yellowish-tan (or, Duh, Camel).

This may be the nicest looking jacket I've ever had and I'm past the 1/2 century mark. Always thought of work jackets as being the lesser grade, in both appearance and quality. Either things have changed, my taste has changed or I have been oblivious. Prefer this to anything I've seen in any hoity toity store (did I spell that right?). It is a man's jacket and makes the wearer feel and look like he's part of the great outdoors. Whatever process they used to give it that rustic look- it works! Would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The only reason I withhold a perfect score is because I agree with another reviewer who said it would be better with an elasticised waist band. He's right. A black band around the bottom hem would match the contrasting black collar, feel better and create a more customized fit.
Wore it today for the first time. It was about 40 degrees and it was very comfortable. It does run a little large, how that will change after the first washing I don't know. The zipper is very heavy duty and high quality. The jacket is high quality. Purchased the light olive color. Extremely pleased with this purchase. Mr. Carhartt, we would be happy to fork over a few extra dollars for that waistband.

I bought this jacket for my dad for his birthday. He has had carhartt jackets before but never as nice as this one. The inside was so soft and warm, and I loved the material on the wrists to keep the cold out. I didn't get a tracking number until the day I got the jacket so I didn't really like not knowing where my package was. I actually had to email them to get the tracking number. Other than that I thought it was great. I will order from them again.

The jacket is really warm, and has a great fit. The only draw back is that it does not come with the hood. Other than that the jacket of great quality, and very durable.

This is one good jacket. I look fantastic in this jacket. It fits well, it's warm enough for fall/spring evenings, and it is built to last many years. I have at least one friend who continually tries to borrow it because he "forgot" his own jacket at home. This rugged jacket will outlast my friendship for sure.

BUT, I dropped one star for a couple of design and manufacturing problems. The first is that one of the storm cuffs folds over on my wrist; it's difficult to describe, but it's just not right. The second problem is the way that the lining fits on the inside. It's intentionally sewn folded over in the back, just to the outside of each shoulder blade. Until I got used to it, I spent a lot of time squirming around trying to flatten it out. I might have sensitive shoulder blades, but it was still an annoyance to me.

Other than those two minor complaints, I recommend this jacket to those of fine taste.

Great coat. I just wish the jacket had a way to cinch-in the sides, much like the old Carhartt jackets did.
