5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Overalls, December 6, 2011

In the past I wore Osh-Kosh bib overalls. They are apparently no longer available in adult men's sizes. I tried these Carhartt and never want to go back to another brand. I wish I had started wearing Carhartt's years ago. The material is tough yet comfortable. I normally wear 42 X 32 jeans and I ordered 46 X 32 in these overalls and they are perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rugged Good Looks, February 16, 2012

The name Carhartt says quite a bit on its own, there's a reason that so many people wear their products. These bib overalls are another rugged and attractive product. Their construction is high quality and so is the materials they're made from. But make sure that you choose a bigger size than you might buy from another manufacturer. I normally wear a 36 or 38 inch waist and these 40 inch waist overalls are just a tad snug. The suspender clips are strong, but can be slightly more difficult to fasten and unfasten than the wire over button fasteners on other brands. But these pants are made to last, standing up to a lot of abuse. People hard on the knees of their pants will appreciate the doubled up design. In spite of the heaviness of the materials, the overalls are comfortable to wear, although it will take a few washings and days of wear to "break them in." I like that they're colorfast even with their rich color. Washing them doesn't tint other clothes in the wash with them like other new clothes have done to me. Better yet, their cut and style don't make me look like a walking Tootsie Roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money!, January 30, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just got these last week and I have already used them to hunt in and I have to say they are awesome.

A couple of things. I'm glad I went with the Sandstone over the traditional duck material. The Sandstone is a little softer and more pliable but definitly still very tough and rugged. I liked that flexability. NOT that the duck are bad or too stiff to wear they just take a little more breaking in and a few washes to get them where te Sandstones are right out of the box.

Heavy duty material. Good strong stitching around the straps and fasteners. I read a review where someone complained about the fasteners being difficult or complicated and I have to wonder if that person was under the influence of something when they tried to fasten their overalls. They are simple and very easy to attach.. I mean, they're push the metal tab through the hole and turn the tab. That's it.. Nothing hard or fancy about it.

Anyway, I took them out scouting for turkey over the weekend and they were great in the brush. I walked through a briar patch and didn't feel a prick nor did the briars leave any permanant scratchs or tears on the overalls. Pretty much what I was looking for to the T.

Tough overalls. Good material. Wind doesn't penetrate them... What can I say. I like these things!

Ohh.. I do want to add that like some of the others said. Buy atleast one size too big. I felt they were more comfortable like this. I wear sweat or jeans under mine so I went two sizes bigger and I think they fit perfect like this if you're going to be wearing clothes underneath them.

4.0 out of 5 stars They have gotten better, January 4, 2012

I have worn Carhart bibs for many years and buy three every year and wear them out. A very nice work trouser that is very tough and protects your body from the sharp and rough world but very easy to wear and has great pockets. The previous bibs had one big problem. The clasp that fastens the suspenders would come loose and often when you were bent over a hole, up on a ladder or some other inconvenient time. I have had to modify the clasp by adding a twist to them to prevent them from coming unfastened. To my surprise these new bibs' clasps stay fastened. They are not easy to unfasten but that is much better than before. I machine wash them but do not put them in the dryer because the clasps clink and clang and beat up the dryer.
