This jacket does what it is supposed to do. It is lightweight and fits easily in a backpack. I wore it in a rainstorm and it kept me dry. It is "breathable" but does get a bit hot to wear in warm weather. It also has a rubbery feel, which I guess is inevitable for a waterproof product. Overall, it's a decent rain jacket that serves its purpose. Nothing very exciting and a bit expensive, probably because you're paying for the Carhartt brand name.

This is a comfortable very lightweight jacket, great for rainy days. It is very breathable and you do not swelter even on hot rainy days. Roomy, so you can easily wear it over a sweatshirt, sports jacket, or suit coat. Much more breathable and comfortable than an old goretex jacket, I used for years.
Material is light but seems very tough and durable.
Nice zippered outer side pockets and deep pocket room on the inside too.
    Good value for the money.

Great light weight jacket for heavy rain. Stay dry for a great price, other brands, same jacket for much more. Carhartt is doing a great job making a move from work ware to tec work ware.

Compared a simular jacket my wife purchased from other outdoor apparel company, made of the same material, at a somewhat lower price. Construction is superior by double with all seams and features. Carhartt lives up to their image.

Lightweight, good-looking, waterproof rain jacket. No frills, great lines on the jacket design. Folds easily into a small bag or in the pocket of a much bigger jacket (don't ask).

It's actually reassuring that it's not that breathable -- that makes it feel more waterproof. But it's not like those bright yellow jackets of yore, or even a garbage bag poncho. There is at least some breathability, but you might work up a sweat if it's spring/summertime. It's not so insulated that you can wear short sleeves underneath on a wintery day (30° - 45° day), but that's purely personal preference/tolerance. I take very well to cold weather usually, and I still find I need a couple layers underneath to stay warm with this jacket when it's winter and not-quite-spring.

That all said, this jacket is not supposed to keep you warm, it's supposed to keep you dry. And for that, it's a very good, durable jacket.

Very happy overall with the jacket, and it meets the standard for Carhartt quality that I have come to expect. This is definitely the lighter weight of the two waterproof/breathable jackets that I am aware they make. Runs big enough where you could put one or more layers underneath it, and borders on still being a little more roomy than I expected, but not so much that I returned it for the next size down. Breathability is acceptable, but it's not the old windbreaker you had in college. Tends to get quite a little heat build up on a warm wet day.

It sounds silly but when I walk the noise from my arms swinging makes a racket. Looks great. Fits Great. But the material is loud; literally.

I thouight this jacket was more nylon, but it basically a rain coat. I don't mind that so much as it is so crunchy when you move in it, drives me crazy. It does keep you dry I'll have to give it that. I like the attached hood and the length of the jacket. I most likely won't wear it much just because of the crunchy of the fabric.
