4.0 out of 5 stars Overly tight at first, but a great set of thermals.
They're snug thermals, a little too snug for the first few days. If you've got larger legs than a person in decent shape, they might be too tight. They did break (stretch where needed) after a day or two. Otherwise, they're soft, the seams are flat, they don't ride up, or down, are pretty warm, and dry quickly. After a few weeks of nearly daily use they're showing no signs of wear.
I'd buy them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits a tall man perfectly!, September 18, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great product for a man that is 6'4" tall. It is the perfect size and length and he said these were the best ones he's ever worn. They wash well and are soft and don't shrink.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dry, comfortable, and snag-free, January 15, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Carhartt Men's Work-Dry Midweight Thermal Bottom (Apparel)
I found these to be the best thermal pants I have ever owned. The pants feel true to size and the sizing chart is accurate. The material is very smooth, won't snag onto your leg hairs, and is not prone to forming holes in the wash like most traditional thermal cloth. The material is breathable and keeps me dry when I am engaged in heavy physical labor which is important for those of us that don't like walking around feeling like there's 2 gallons of water in our butt-crack. Also the cut of the pants are generous on the crotch area and doesn't suffocate my man parts which I found to be a problem with most brands of thermal pants.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice material, December 5, 2012

Nice material does not itch or get too warm. My inseam is 34 and the mediums fit well without being baggy or too tight. They aren't actually that warm though if you aren't exercising or working.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silky smooth, warm, great price, December 28, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I own three pairs of these bottoms. Let's compare Carhartt's to some other brands:

The cheap bottoms were purchased for about $10.00. They are cotton, scratchy, and of the 3 pairs purchased one split down the middle in back because they are really stitched more likely glued together.

The Carhartt's are smooth, 100% polyester with heavy stitching.

Two negatives come to mind:

1) Order one size larger than you are -- this goes for the cheap stuff too.
2) They are not quite as good as insulation as the cheap ones.

They will, however, last much, much longer.

Thanks.

I bought these pants for my husband, he works in the cold outdoors in Alaska. And when I came home from work He was wearing them. Fresh out of the mailbox. Its safe to say he likes them. They keep him warm at work, and the material is nice its a dry-fit material.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good long johns, all-in-all, March 8, 2012

The material of these long johns seems like very good stuff, and the fly works easily. The length of the legs is ample. My beef is with the circumference of the waist band: personally, I find that it's too small for the size rating. Medium fits my butt and legs, but is tighter in the waist than I want. Size Large is okay in the waist, but baggy in the butt and legs (for me). I do admit to having a bit of a bulge, but it's really pretty small for an old guy. I wish there were an adjustment in the waistband, but that is probably wishing for too much. I'm wearing them around the house under sweat pants, and find that my legs are much happier with them on than they used to be in this winter weather and cool indoor temperature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price, January 3, 2014

Bought these for my roommate who works outside. He only wears Carhartt brand products because of the durability. I was told these keep him so warm that he 'almost' doesn't mind being in the cold overnight. Almost.
