Cute Addition to the Teen Romance Genre,
By
This review is from: Caribbean Cruising (Paperback)
Eighteen-year-old Lindsay Darnell has just graduated high school, and is looking for some excitement in her life during the summer before she starts school as a freshman at the University of Texas. Luckily, her Mother and Walter, her Mother's rich boyfriend, soon to be husband, are getting married aboard The Enchantment. A lavish ship where they will spend their honeymoon. Lindsay has been invited, and knows that this will be the start to her new life. For Lindsay plans on reinventing herself. Instead of being shy, straight-narrowed, perfect Lindsay, she's going to let loose, and be wild for once. However, when Walter's overprotective godson, Ryan, comes into the picture, Lindsay's style is severely cramped. How is she going to meet the perfect guy for a one night stand if Ryan is with her wherever she goes. And why, if she doesn't want Ryan hanging around, does she think about him non-stop?Being a fan of teen fiction, and any book that features a character going on vacation, I had to purchase Rachel Hawthorne's CARIBBEAN CRUISING. I was not disappointed. The book takes place over the course of 10 days, both on The Enchantment, and in each of the ports, including the Virgin Islands, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Cancun. The descriptions of each place are vivid and beautiful, while the characters are exciting, and fun. Lindsay could so fully be your best friend in life, while Brooke could definitely be the girl who your completely jealous of. Ryan, on the other hand, is like a knight in shining armor, who's looks, and charm will win the heart of all readers. A must have book for anyone looking for a cute teen romance. Erika Sorocco

Carribean Crusing is the story of 18 year old Lindsay, and her quest to complete items on a list while on her Carribean Cruise for the summer to celebrate her mom's wedding. Some of the items on the list include getting drunk, snokeling, kissing a lot of cute guys, and ending with the big one: sleeping with a guy for the 1st time. Along the cruise, Lindsay goes on a quest for the right guy to complete the final task with, enlisting help from friend Brooke. This book was a page-turner, funny, and described teen life in a good way. This was a fun story for the summer which girls should take time to read!

This book was so good!I couldn't put it down for one second! If you're a big romance fan, I would definetly recommend this book. You will be smiling from ear-to-ear with every page that you read. It's got humor, and potential, and will leave butterflies in your stomach as you anticipate on what will happen next. This book, just like most other romance books, starts out with a young, typical teenager that seems to be having trouble finding the right guy.Lindsay Darnell, having been invited along on her mother's honeymoon, a 10 day and night cruise, is determined to live life at its fullest while on vacation.Upon meeting Ryan, her stepfather's best man- and not to mention, one of the hottest guys Lindsay's ever seen- ,there is an instant connection between them.Ryan was invited on the cruise to watch over Lindsay. But Lindsay insists that she doesn't need a babysitter and that Ryan would ruin her chances of accomplishing everything on her list that she intends to do this summer.A list that includes sleeping with a guy for the first time. When Lindsay meets Brooke, her wild and spontanious new friend aboard the ship,Brooke trys to convince Lindsay that Ryan just might be intending to become more than friends with her.But Lindsay's continuous reply of "he's just a family friend"is changed when a sudden kiss between them questions her thoughts about him. Will Lindsay give in to Ryan's charms and good looks?Who will fall for who first? This book will keep u guessing all the way through it and will keep you compelled to reading it all day and all night. It is a great book to add to any collection and it is one that will give you butterflies in your stomach all the way until the end.

This review is from: Caribbean Cruising (Paperback)
Wow!! This story is better than the average summer teen romance novel, because it makes you feel as though you are on an amazing carribean cruise, and I don't know many people that wouldn't love to be on a cruise, especially this one. There is hot romance, love quests, flirting, dancing, partying, swimming, hiking, parasailing, weddings, pools, clubs, boys, spas, room service. Gosh, the list goes on!!!Get this book, and enjoy your couple days in paradise!

A Week of Paradise,

This book was the best book I have ever read. It's the type of book you can definately relate to. The main character's name is Lindsey and she wants to have a "Summer fling" on the Cruise Ship - The Enchantment. But what she is NOT looking forward to is having her new stepfather's godson to watch her. But, when you meets the incredible cutie Ryan, all she can do is tell herself that he is not interested in her and that he is just being nice. I would recommend this book to anyone that just loves Romantic books with some comedy in it.

Only appropriate for older teens...,
By Sally Hansen (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Caribbean Cruising (Paperback)
My younger teenage daughter bought this book, then tossed it aside after reading a couple of chapters. I picked it up to check it out and realized why. It is a well written and engaging book. But - there is underage drinking and the main character is out to loose her virginity to someone while on a cruise to get it over with. I think any moms looking at reviews should know this!

Romantic and Fun,
By Kat (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Caribbean Cruising (Paperback)
A perfect book for those who enjoy teen romance novels. It tells the story of Lindsay, a teenager looking for love. If you want a detailed plot, read the summeries below this. I've only read the first half, so I actually don't know what happens in the end. However, I can tell that it's a fun book.
This is not quality literature; not a book that makes you think. Instead, it's a fun, light, almost fluffy book. It's quick-paced and enjoyable. As a teenager, I find myself relating to many of the emotions and feelings that Lindsay feels. The characters are fairly believable, and it's an enjoyable adventure. Although I wouldn't reccomend this as an amazing, quality piece of literature, I'd definately reccomend this to someone who wants to enjoy a book again. It's fun and light, and truely enjoyable!! A perfect light read. |
