Took a chance as not all 12 months photos available to view prior to purchase. When I received the calendar I was tempted to return it as the photographs on the outside were disappointing and I expected more white, sandy beaches. However, when opened fully to reveal all photographs (and a larger size), I was delighted. The photographs are truly breathtaking and are of a variety of scenes, including boats, greenery, rather a lot of the US Virgin Islands (St John) and St Thomas. Not quite wha I was hoping for, but beautiful nevertheless.

Love Don Herbert "Caribbean Islands" Calendars. The photographs are stunningly beautiful, and the calendar is printed on thick gorgeous paper. The width of the calendar, 13.5 inches, is wider than the usual 12x12 inches, allowing for a wider field, so the finished photo is 13.5 x 10.6 inches, really stands out. Mr. Herbert's focus is solely the Caribbean Islands and the beauty they hold. Perhaps it's personal, because I used to live in the Caribbean, so looking at the photos I can feel the silky air, smell the salt water, and see the places I used to love to visit. I love the colors found in the Caribbean ocean, the sand, the islands' flora and fauna, and the local building architecture, ports, and boats. Mr. Herbert's photo composition brings out the best of the natural colors, textures and unusual shapes found in the relationships between the ocean, beaches, land, boats, houses, etc. Lastly, it's wonderful to have each photo labeled. I typically order at least four tropical (Maldives, Seychelles, Caribbean, etc.) calendars for use in various rooms of my home and office. Don Herbert's calendar is my favorite, without a doubt. He is a professional photographer and obviously loves photographing the Caribbean area. I only wish I'd found his calendars long ago. Ordered it last year, again this year, and I look forward to his calendars in the years to come.

I never miss my Don Hebert calendar!

The photographer captures the real essence of the Virgin Islands, and if you stand in front of the heat register and squint, you can pretty well convince yourself you are there!
